Fight takes place on indestructible planet. Can Garlic Jr.'s immortality allow him to outlast the mighty frieza?
Frieza vs. Garlic Jr.
@kyrees: lol but he can't die. That would be funny to watch though.
@PrinceAragorn1: thanks
@pantypolice: Umm...yeah. That's a factual statement. Did you know that the ocean is usually blue because it's reflecting the color of the sky?
Was that supposed to be a response to me, or...?
@JakeN7: sky is blue because of air molecules absorbs light of a fix spectrum and then spred it in that colour
@JakeN7: sky is blue because of air atoms absorbs light of a fix spectrum and then spred it in that colour
@jaken7: sorry I didn't remember it like that..idk know why filler episodes are weird. did the saga come before or after they went to Namek? if after garlic jr. has it. i believe the timestream is before Namek as Gohan using piccolo's attack isn't used in cannon after coming back from namek.
@brainstorm01: I know. I had a brain fart and wrote it backwards. The ocean is the one that reflects the sky, and that's why it's blue. :3
@jaken7: deadzone, garlic jrs movie takes place before the start of dbz chronologically and after the end of dragon ball. Frieza literally stomps him into the ground, realizes he's immortal and essentially stops caring. Yadda yadda, blows up the planet, yadda yadda garlic comes back for revenge, another planet gets blown up. So on and so forth.
@beautifulrevery: ...ok? What is this in response to? We were discussing the Garlic Jr saga (filler in the DBZ anime).
But, since you brought it up. NO! Deadzone was not in between DB and DBZ. Piccolo is an ally in the movie, meaning it has to take place in Z. No that doesn't fit within the timeline, because right after Goku teams up with Piccolo, they do nothing except kill Raditz, and then Goku dies. But that's how all the movies are. They're non-canon (at least partially).
@jaken7: They just mean the Saga is filler not that it didn't happen in the anime or that it doesn't exist. The Garlic Junior Saga isn't in the manga, the DBZ original anime has a lot of filler because it was constantly trying not to catch up to the manga and they wanted to keep making money. Generally people distinguish between Anime and manga versions since so much of the filler makes no sense like Goku getting hurt by a rock tossed at him. The same way most battles assume standard comic version and movie or animated series have to be noted by the OP manga characters are generally assumed to be manga version and anime version has to be noted unless the Anime is a direct translation of events of the manga. The Garlic Junior saga is considered filler and is generally not considered for Canon, same as DBGT isn't considered canon by most fans. That's why it doesn't pop up in the remastered DBZ Dragon Ball Kai where they cut out the extraneous scenes and filler making it much closer to the manga.
On topic though Garlic Junior loses either way, Anime or manga. The movie was at the end of DB after the Budokai when Piccolo and Goku were still enemies. That version would get mega stomped considering Goku and Piccolo weren't even as strong as when they fought Raditz. At best Garlic junior is about Raditz level , maybe a bit better just immortal. Raditz wouldn't even be an insect to Frieza. Garlic Junior Saga from the anime was still weaker than Piccolo and Piccolo got stomped before Frieza could even get to his final form. Garlic Junior Saga wasn't particularly long after they escaped Frieza after Namek as Gohan was still a child and not a teen like when Goku finally came back. But assuming they even got WAY stronger or something in that short amount of time Frieza 100% Final Form and Super Saiyan Goku were still leagues more powerful than they could have gotten...unless Piccolo and Gohan got close to Super Saiyan power levels in under a years worth of training. Garlic Junior ONLY got more powerful than Piccolo after getting a temporary amp from the Makyo Star, a planet that empowers Garlic junior. Frieza still would have been more powerful than Garlic was shown to be ....or blown up the Makyo Star rendering Garlic Junior from having his amp. And if your the type to put stock in "Power levels" , I'm not, then Frieza's power level as stated in the Daizenshuu as being 120,000,000 in his 100% Final Form, Garlic's was stated at being "According to the movie pamphlets for Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might and the Dragon Ball Carddass, Garlic Jr.'s combined power level alongside his three Lords is 1,450, making Garlic Jr.'s power level 400. Garlic Jr'spower level around the events of the movie Dead Zone is 2,500 in base and 3,500 in his transformed state in the Famicom game Dragon Ball Z: Kyōshū! Saiyan. His power level during the Garlic Jr. Saga is said to be 1,500,000 in Dragon Ball Z: The Anime Adventure Game." So as I said I don't put much stock in power levels, but take it how you will. Frieza stomps Garlic , and Garlic being immortal only prolongs the ineitable. Him opening up the Dead Zone and BFR'ing himself to get away from the beat down Frieza is giving him.
@cerberus369616: Yes, I realize all that. Not sure what I said that implied I didn't.
Also, are you sure Deadzone took place after DB, but before Z? Goku teamed up with Piccolo in Deadzone, but when Piccolo showed up to Kame House at the beginning of DB, it seemed like they hadn't ever seen each other since their fight in the World Martial Arts tournament. Also, if Piccolo had a history of teaming up with Goku for a greater cause that's above their rivalry, why would Goku and the rest be so shocked and defensive when Piccolo shows up to Kame House?
@beautifulrevery: Garlic Jr. Has two movies and a saga or a movie and a saga IIRC, the movie takes place at the beginning of Z when Gohan is 4 and his saga takes place in between Namek's destruction and before Trunks arrives

That's exactly why I have trouble believing it was before Z so I just blame it on Toei, as it seems none of his dbz movies fit in the original timeline very well. I like them but its hard trying to find a place to put them in the dbz story without some kind of contradictions or holes lol
@jaken7: Yea I'm sure. They are shocked and defensive not because they hadn't seen him but because he was still considered 100% Evil. Goku and him teamed up against Garlic, as you said, because he was a much greater threat to both of them. Garlic wanted Kami dead which would kill Piccolo and Goku wanted to protect the world. Raditz embarrased Piccolo and piccolo wanted revenge but knew he couldn't get it with out help so he went to team up with Goku. Goku and his friends still considered Piccolo evil and Piccolo still considered Goku his mortal enemy. He said multiple times , even while fighting Raditz that he was gonna kill Goku after Raditz was done. He even said he developed Special Beam Cannon so he could kill Goku with it. If a known murderer who had swonr to kill you and your best friends showed up at your house for ANY REASON you and your friends would be freaked out just like them....at least most people would.
@blade_r: Oh for sure. All of the movies have that slight nitpick that brings the whole continuity down. They're supposed to be non-canon. They never fit 100% into the continuity. Some get as close as 80 or 90%, but never all the way.
Yeah they are definitely non canon, the only movie I consider canon is BOTG. But I wont lie and pretend I didn't like the DBZ movies especially Tree Of Might and Bardock The Father Of Goku lol
@cerberus369616: That's all well and good, but the dialogue, coupled with some common sense, would suggest that they hadn't seen each other since the World Martial Arts Tournament. Also, Gohan's outbursts and overall power shown while being held captive by Raditz were completely new and surprising to everyone, yet he flipped his sh%t and unlocked his potential in Deadzone, and event sent Garlic Jr. packing.
ALSO, KRILLIN IS IN THE MOVIE. If you go back and watch DBZ ep.1, that was clearly the first time he'd met Gohan, as he is just as surprised as the rest of the gang to learn that Goku has friggin' procreated. Yet in Deadzone, Krillin is there fighting alongside Piccolo, Goku, AND Gohan.
Yes, the wiki sites and Wikipedia say it serves as a prelude to Z, but they also note timeline issues, and they say it's only possible that it takes place between the Piccolo Jr saga, and the Saiyan saga.
@kasino: Dude. I don't know how much clearer I can say this...
THE GARLIC JR EPISODES COME AFTER THE FRIEZA SAGA.
F%ck. You're literally arguing against an infallible fact. I IMPLORE you to look it up.
Here, just in case you don't want to:
"Life on Earth for the Z Warriors was just getting back to normal following the battle between Frieza and Goku on Namek, though Goku had not yet returned to Earth."
http://dragonball.wikia.com/wiki/Garlic_Jr._Saga
The last episode of the Frieza saga was ep. 107, "Goku's Alive." The following episode, 108 "The Heavens Tremble" is the beginning of the Garlic Jr. saga.
I don't understand what's so hard to grasp about that.
Garlic Jr. Wins if the goal is to outlive the opponent. Frieza wins if the goal is to make the opponent unable to battle.
