Five Man Arena Tournament.
Alright, this is my first attempt at a tournament, please be patient with me. This is quite simple, you get 5 people, and they must fall under the guidelines given, read below for more details.
The Rules:
- PM me your characters, they must fall under the guidlelines presented
- I may limit characters, if I do, you will be allowed to either keep them, or swap them out. Example: Someone chooses WWH, and I say Grey Hulk or Savage Hulk only, so they decide they want someone else.
- Characters are first come first serve. No duplicates, if you pick a character someone else has already chosen, I'll tell you to swap them out.
- If you team advances to the next round, you will be allowed to swap out up to two characters. However, those characters must be chosen from opponents you have previously defeated.
Character Guidelines:
- Max Strength: Savage Hulk
- Max Durability: Thing
- Max Speed: Quicksilver (NOT Ultimate)
- Max Intelligence: None
- Telepathy: Psylocke
- Max Reflexes: None
- Energy Blasts: We'll play this one by ear
- Max Flight Speed: Iron Man's Bleeding Edge Armor
- No Reality/Time/Space manipulation
- Characters with limited or questionable feats disallowed: Doctor Manhattan is a good example, Hancock, though both would be disabled anyway, you can see the point, they weren't shown doing enough things, or fighting people on their level enough to really know their feats.
Rules:
- No battlefield removal
- No leaving the battlefield
- Team one starts on the left side, team two on the right
- Use scans and feats to prove your arguments, respect each other and play nice. I will warn you once if you get out of line, after that you're out
- Characters have standard equipment, unless stated otherwise. Certain characters can have different standard gear (Punisher in an Arena battle, he might bring land mines or something, it's not out of his character)
- Characters are morals on, in character, but bloodlusted. What does this mean? Lets use Batman as an example. He will still have his moral code, and he will still probably use non-lethal weaponry from his arsenal in his standard gear. However, he will be willing to kill if he has to.
- Your team starts anywhere from on the top of the platform on your team's side, to up to the 3 sets of walls (in the watch tower, behind the wall, etc.).
- Winner will be the best out of 3 rounds
- Win via KO, Death, Total Incapacitation, or Time Out (read below)
Battlefield: Read the descriptions, any questions just ask me.
Round 1: Random Encounter
- 15 minutes of prep to share knowledge, choose starting positions, and discuss strategy. Cannot grab extra equipment with this time.
- Random Encounter: Completely oblivious as to who they are up against.
- 4 hour battle
Round 2: Team with Prep
- Knowledge of opponents abilities and who they are. However, if they are from an alternate universe, your team will only know their abilities, not their personalities.
- Advanced Tech Allowed but limited: Iron Man can use stealth suits, bleeding edge, silver centurion, but not things like Iron Destroyer. Batman can use some of his one shot equipment, but nothing like the Insider Suit. Be reasonable, I'll tell you if it's not allowed, if you're not sure just ask.
- 60 Minutes Prep - Don't go over the top with what equipment they have access to, be reasonable, I'll tell you if it's too much.
- 6 hour battle
Round 3: You vs. Me
- Full Knowledge of opposing team
- Advanced Tech Allowed but limited: Read Round 2
- 60 Minutes Prep: Read Round 2
- My team starts opposite of where your team normally would
- You will both state how you would beat my team
- 5 hour time limit
Why face a team you make?
This will test how your team fairs. I will make a new team for each battle, and the team will be designed to be difficult, but not impossible for either team to beat. This is not only to test your debating skills, but how well you are at using your characters to their full potential.
Tournament Size: 8-16 people
Debating in threads: You may debate in anyones battle, and point out misinformation, etc. etc. If you are debating in someone else's thread, please be respectful to both teams, whether it is the one you think will win or not.
Time Out: Each battle is given a time limit. This time is short enough that it should be fair for most players, but long enough to prove rigorous to certain people on time limits. This is mostly used to prevent stalemates. For example, if everyone agrees Team 1 can beat 4/5 members of Team 2, but the last member of Team 2 cannot be KO'd by that team, but cannot KO anyone from Team 1 himself, then Team 1 will be declared the winner (because they have more people).
You will be locked into this tournament when you PM me. You may PM me first, and then come up with a team if you desire. However, remember, characters are first come first serve, the longer you take, the more likely your player will be chosen.
Thanks for reading,
Floopay
