I've decided to stage a tournament in honor of my favorite comic book character Superman and the multitude of heroes he's inspired. I've dubbed it the First Annual Metropolis Invitational and decided that this first tournament should be geared toward the Golden Age version of Superman and analogs around his power level. I've carefully selected 16 participants and used an online tournament bracket generator to select the match-ups. Now I want to see how your brackets and how you think this tournament will play out. The rules are simple: Morals are on, no gear or weaponry is allowed, no killing, and the fight ends when one contestant is either incapacitated or knocked outside the arena. The tournament will take place at the Metropolis Metrodome and the contestants will get a day of rest and preparation between fights. Here are the opening match-ups:
