Firelord as a former herald of Galactus has a vast multitude of powers which include
Super Strength (lift approx 50 tonnes), Super Endurance (go on for months without rest), enhanced agility and reflexes (far beyond the limits of a human) and Invulnerability (it would take a massive explosion on the level of a cruise missile to even faze him).
His fie powers are a level the Human Torch only wished he has. Several times his output has been compared to a small star. His flames burn without oxygen, they cannot be doused and their heat is such that he could cut through vitually any alloy with the exception of adamantium in a less than a minute.
Then there are his other cosmic manipulation powers etc. You get the drift.
Even though Magneto is very powerful for a mortal, he would not last 5 minutes against Firelord.
And the issue where Spiderman defeated him - please. Spiderman's strongest blow could not hurt him so I think that this comic was a writers dream - no doubt the writer woke up to find Spiderman in the shower.
