I was having an argument with @kingant27 on this so here goes

Lanterns have 3 days of prep with no knowledge. Both teams are in character. Fight takes place in the Grand Canyon. Who wins and why?

All Lanterns pictured? And is this all Lantern canon since Pre52 is still canon or just New52?

If it's all Lantern continuity I'm not sure if Fernus has a way past Hal and Walker super charging each other for three days, combined with the one man Lantern Corps of Larfleeze.

I'll wait to hear from some Fernus experts though.

Fernus should take this by a notable margin. The Lanterns have had great trouble dealing with intangibility, as Martian Manhunter alone has taken out 10-15 quite easily. The Rings are not magical or quantum-based in nature, meaning they have no amps that allow them to sufficiently counter intangibility. Fernus also destroys them physically. He out moved the Flash, putting him tiers above any Lantern in terms of speed. He could quite easily blitz them to death immediantly. His strength should counter any constructs that cause trouble. His TP would decimate them, as he used it to kill an entire army of beings with country-level TP. The Rings have trouble dealing with an unamped Martian Manhunter TP, so Fernus isn't even fair. He pretty much has them beaten in every aspect of the battle. He even took out the JLA. The only real challenge (other than PIS powered Plastic Man) was a John amped by Guardian-level power, and even this only held Fernus off for a couple seconds.

@serrure: I believe Blackest Night Martian Manhunter did, but I could be wrong about that.

That sounds like it would have come in handy when J'onn was making it rain Lanterns.

Let me just remind eveyone that the only reason John Stewart was even slightly effective against Fernus was because the Guardians were 'talking through him' in something called the First Language of the Universe, something so advanced it would have burnt out his puny human mind if he retained any knowledge of it for more than a few moments.

Now, for starters, there are no little blue men present to speak for this group, they cant talk through them (because that would be cheating). And none of the Lanterns, save perhaps Larfleeze, are natural telepaths or come as standart with anti-TP gear through their rings.

But with 3 days of prep, perhaps Jordan can get a peek inside the old Oan armory, Atrocitus might be able to work the old blood magic into something useful and Sinestro might have a buddy he can ask for tips.

All in all I think Fernus will still take this 8/10 times.
