Ezio and Connor vs Mugen and Jin (Samurai Champloo)

Rules

• Random encounter.
• Both opponents have no prior knowledge other than what they see.
• Standard equipment, though nothing cheap for the Assassins.
• Morals off (as they always are), in character.
• All abilities available.
• All feats for the Assassins, no manga or filler feats for Mugen and Jin.
• Everyone is at their peak.
• Winner by death.

Round 1

• Opponents have no prior knowledge other than what they see.
• 75 foot starting distance.

Round 2

• Opponents have prior knowledge of the opposite side's gear, however they know nothing about their techniques.
• No bombs or firearms.
• 20 foot starting distance.

Feats for Mugen and Jin?

Don't know anything about mugen and jin... I think it is safe to assume they are on par with my assassins

Chops through arrows in mid-air.

Both fight off a group of samurai after being tortured for one night.

Mugen tanks falling down a mineshaft at terminal velocity, then fights a clan of trained samurai at 18:25. This feat draws similarities to Ezio (and the other assassins) and his ability to tank falls from high areas.

Mugen also kicks several holes through a door effortlessly in 15:14. Similar to Connor bashing down a wooden door.

Mugen one-shots a group of samurai faster than they could react.

Here's a display of their combat styles.

A display of Mugen's combat style. He utilizes his lanky body frame to maneuver around his opponents, and makes large flips over his opponent's blades.

Dodges a ninja's attacks with no problem, despite being smashed on the head with a pot.

Fights a group of guards without their swords.

Mugen and Jin topple them in speed, but the Assassins have far higher pain resistance and durability. Hmmm.

Team assassins.

Eagle sense, predicts the opponents path and thus ezio n Connor win 7/10

Assassines. They have long range weapons (like guns) and Smoke Bombs that will choke out the samurais.

Thanks for the callout but sadly, i dont know anything about Team 2

Assassins only win because of guns and bombs.

Assassins because of tech, equal skill, and comparable if not superior physicals.

Are the samurai bullet timers? Cuz surely, if not, they just get shot, eventually?

Mugen has his own sense of such an ability, to some extent. Here, he pre-emptively dodges a lethal swipe from behind, without any indication of being followed.

Mugen dodges a single crossbow bolt fired by surprise, aimdodges several more, and is able to slice one of them while falling in mid-air.

(8:05) - Mugen displays the reaction time to intercept a bullet while he draws out his sword.

(16:57) - Jin aimdodges several shots fired from a revolver before he kills his attacker.

Assassin's win, better physically and tech/equipment. The skill is debatable...

Tough call. It could either ways for both rounds, but the samurai win by a slight majority in Round 2. Mugen is as strong as Connor, but he's too fast for him in hand to hand. I would say that Jin is evenly matched with Ezio in terms of skill.
