Evolve: Marvel

Creatures begin terrorizing a city in Africa and in response Shield puts a team together to hunt them down. Can the Marvel team do as well as the Hunter team?

Marvel Movie Team:

Captain America, Spider-man, Wolverine, Winter Soldier

Conditions:

• Morals On
• Standard Gear
• No Prep
• Random Encounter
• 1 Mile starting distance
• Win by KO, Death or Incap

Location:

Round 1: Goliath

Round 2: Kraken

Round 3: Wraith

Wolverine solo's

The Monsters are taken down by bullets.

@citizensentry: In all the trailers we've seen bullets have been less than effective. See the above trailer. The Wraith gets shot, blown up with missiles, napalmed and flies off unharmed. They can be taken down but it takes a HELL of a lot of effort and Hunter tech/traps.

Wolverine isn't coming close to soloing.

Not sure how thats relevant seeing as gameplay mechanics are generally disregarded in fights unless its a direct reference in the campaign which is not available in the Alpha or Beta.

Explain? If I recall correctly Movie Wolverine has been KO'd by bullets and Sabretooth. Most of these monsters have more than enough strength to replicate that. If you think the team wins thats fine but I don't see how movie Wolverine could possibly solo this.

Wolverine IIRC was only ever K.O'd by Adamantium bullets.

But he has also had his skin ripped off by a phoenix empowered Jean Grey.

He has Adamantium blades which have cut through 2ft steel doors, Helicopter rotor blades, Humvee wheel arches.

It depends on which level the monsters are (1-3)

If all of them are at class 3 of evolution they may stand a chance....combined.

In X-men 2 he was shot in the head by a policeman and knocked unconscious which caused Pyro to flip out and in X-men he was KO'd by Sabretooth. In X-men 3 he was also KO'd by Magneto throwing him into a tree IIRC.

Which was impressive but still doesn't effect his blunt trauma durability.

I never said he would be unable to hurt them his claws more than likely can harm the creatures. It would be a missmatch if the couldn't.

For the purpose of the scenario they are all maxed.

Marvel team should win.

Marvel team stop at round 1, The Goliath can not only punch through the hull of a starship, it can also breathe fire. The Goliath is an extremely strong predatory creature that comes with an array of strong close quarter attacks as well as incredible longer range capabilities.

Leap Smash: The Goliath leaps through the air towards his target location and slams into the ground after a short travel time, upon landing the Goliath creates an area that all enemies inside are damaged as well as knocked backwards.

Charge: A powerful attack that allows the Goliath to rush forward closing the gap between fleeing enemies.

If Team Marvel flee, Goliath could easily send a large rock their way and damage/kill them then he leap smashes the remaining survivors and finishes off Wolverine with his tremendous strength.

Evolve. Wolverine doesnt have the speed to compete with the monsters.

No you're 100% right. But it does mean however, that whatever damage they do. Will be regenerated in about 2 seconds.

Wolverine tanking hits from Jean that burn him to the skeleton, recovers in seconds.Then you have Cap in the lead for Strategy and Amazing Spider man for this......

And I would like to know how the featless wonders going to get through cap defenses....

I think you might've confused the Origins scene with the X2 scene. In the former he gets knocked-out by adamantium bullets and loses his memory. In the latter, he got shot in the head by a cop with a regular round, and got temporarily KOed. Though this was admittedly a low showing on Logan's part...

As for the actual thread, can't say much since I don't have any knowledge on the monsters. But gahhh, someone buy me a copy on Steam!

Stealth is usually my go-to strategy in any situation as a monster so I think the Wraith will be right up my alley, heh. Would you say the Wraith is unbalanced, or just a really powerful monster in the right controller?

@i_like_swords: Honestly unbalanced. I won three games straight on my first attempts with the Wraith, and it was against my friends who have been playing since Alpha. The Wraiths been nerfed alot since Beta but i still think she's too fast and too strong, specifically the Decloy and SuperNova attacks. But hey that just might be me. Wraiths super fun to use though

Monsters win. No one is fast enough to evade the ridiculous powers these monsters have. All will used as hammers to the ground

@oreoassassin: The Wraith is incredibly difficult to hit at the best of times. Best answer for me is to have some harpoons set up along with frequent tranq darts. If the trapper and medic can keep the Wraith slow and the team healthy you can take it out. Easier said than done, though :P

This game is the cancer killing video games.

@i_like_swords: Cutting content and releasing it as day 1 DLC thats adds up to over a 100 dollars definitely classifies as the cancer killing video games, in my books. I'll have to remember that 2K is now a trash company.

@beaconofstrength: Damn, I hadn't realized they were pulling a Bungie with this one.. that sucks. The game itself is incredibly innovative, it's just a shame every damn company is squeezing people dry by repackaging disc-content as DLC.

Spider-Man and Wolverine are the only ones who stand a chance here. And they can do it. The monsters can't hit Spidey, while the monssers also cant put down Logan. Spider-Man has the strength to hurt them and Wolverine has indestructible blades, so...

None of them stand a chance. They have no answer for any of the attacks and the severe brutality and game mechanics that come into effect, they regenerate and have powers that the heroes cannot comprehend

My vote goes to the monsters. Cause they are too beast looking

Hey ILS, how've you been?

Only their shields regenerate, and that's via eating other creatures. There are no creatures in this map, given the fact that it's a deserted city.

Also, I honestly don't see how these are powers the heroes can't comprehend. Goliath is a huge slow beast, easily dodge-able by most of the marvel roster.

Kraken doesn't do much but shoot lightning, which Amazing Spider-Man can easily dodge.

Wraith actually has a pretty high chance of taking this team out though.

So, Goliath could win if he focuses on knocking wolverine out first, since I don't really much see the team as having the offensive capability of taking down Goliath without wolverine. Though I doubt Goliath is smart enough to take Wolverine out first. With Winter Soldier's vast arsenal, he could potentially create a distraction whilst Wolverine aims for Goliath's neck and kills him.

As for Kraken, he's much less durable than Goliath, but he has the benefit of flying. This one is going to be harder, and if anything it's going to be a stalemate. Spider-Man can easily dodge lightning, but Wolverine won't be able to reach Kraken up there.

Wraith is the least durable of them all. I think even Winter Soldier has what it takes to hurt Wraith. Though wraith is arguably the most dangerous. This is an abandoned metropolis, and his stealth is going to be a huge factor in this. Though I'm not sure if wraith can take down Wolverine. I'm not even sure if Wraith can bypass Spider-Man's spider sense. At most, Wraith is going to take down Cap and Winter Soldier before getting killed.

So, my verdict is Marvel Team 6.5-7/10
