And, another thing. The Penance Stare working on Mephisto didn't defeat him, but exorcise him from another man's body. Could it effectively incapacitate a Demon instead exorcising it from someone else?
Etrigan vs Ghost Rider
"And, another thing. The Penance Stare working on Mephisto didn't defeat him, but exorcise him from another man's body. Could it effectively incapacitate a Demon instead exorcising it from someone else?"I'm not exactly sure on that one......
"And if GR beating other demons is irrelevant than why did you post scans of Etrigan going through Demons eh?"
Because you did. The one with GR fighting the giant demon snake? Right?

"Is not Jason Blood possessed by Etrigan because of Merlin or was that retconned?"
My mistake. Jason Blood isn't possessed. Etrigan is a separate being. It's a transformation of some sort.
"I'm not exactly sure on that one......"That was my point this entire thread. So, my point still stands. Whether or not the Penance Stare could incapacitate a Demon is in question now, since it never defeated Mephisto.

But then would'nt that count as a Possession? If Etrigan is in control?
Basically, what I'm trying to get at, is, IF Ghost Rider seperated Mephisto from a man I don't see why he could'nt seperate Jason from Etrigan, Although, Getting Etrigan out is prolly going to piss both (Jason and Demon) off
"That is trueI don't think so. Etrigan is only in control when Jason Blood transforms (and Jason seems to have some will over Etrigan's violent nature). And, even if Etrigan could be exorcised from Jason, it wouldn't really matter because GR would still have to fight Etrigan. Like I said, they are separate beings.

Bumping old thread instead of making new one, honestly I think Ghost rider wins, the amount of healing ability he showed recently plus his natural durability makes me think he can take a ton of damage if he needs to,plus i am under the impression the penance stare would work. Though if etrigan has shown anything impressively lately i could change my mind.
Etrigan should win this
As you can see in this scans, Etrigan is extremely powerful, and this creature he destroys is Yog-Sothoth. Not even to mention the powers he had when he absorved the Stonehenge, and the pennance stare would help him instead of defeating, let's not forget that he's a masochist, that's why he almost don't use magic, he loves the pain.
