Didn't they just fight in the comics?
Does Blue Devil have any real powers beyond strength and durability? I can't find almost anything about his powers anywhere.
BD has super strength, speed, agility, and durability. His body is regenerative and will completely heal from most damage given time. He has infra red vision, mini gills, super hearing, and can fire minor blasts from his hands. All were the result of a super suit he made as a special effects for the movie "Blue Devil" that during filming was magically boded to him. The magical bonding are the reason for the regeneration, also the reason for his "weirdness magnet" ability. According to owner of the House of Mystery he has a magical magnet that draws weird things to him ( or him to them). The way it was explained it's 1000's of times more likely that a bank will be robbed if BD is in it than one he isn't.
All this was the power of the BD pictured in the OP who physically would be about 1/2 to 2/3 the physical power of Etrigan. The later version who gave his soul to Neron and was upgraded is MUCH closer to equal.
The Trident Pictured is his original one created by him and mystically empowered by Nebrios. It is a link to the nether worlds and can open vortex's and blast magical blasts and allows him flight. It has also altered the flow of time making things time rates different to other things ( like GL's ring just recharged running out of it's 24 hour charge in minutes.
His later trident was a hell one with even more power. According to Etrigan itself when he briefly got hold ( Shadowpact) of it, with it he could have taken over hell.
All comes down to how Danny uses the trident, if he brings it into play early he wins if not he goes down hard.
