Esquire's Build-A-Team Tourney (Sign-Up Closed, Voting Open)

Long Story Short: There's a list of characters and add-ons with point values. You get 30 points to do with as you will! Once we get 8 or 16 participants, we'll do a single-elimination bracket-style tournament. Scroll down for the list. Rules are below.

Rules

You can post your team in the thread, or you can PM it to me. Matchups between participants will be determined by random number generator.

Once all of the teams have been submitted, I'll make individual threads for each debate.

Please stick to generally accepted debating practices and refrain from trolling. Treat your opponent with respect and dignity. If spectators want to correct misinformation they may, but in general let the 2 people debating keep the debate to themselves. Once a debate is finished, we will call a vote and any Viner who wishes may vote for whom he/she believes would win the fight. Please vote for who made a better argument as to why their team would win, NOT who you like better or which characters you like better. This is not a popularity contest.

-All DC characters are their Pre New 52 versions.

-Both Teams are aware of the situation and who their opponents are.

-There is no prep time, but a basic list of their opponents' powers is given to each team. It doesn't include personality traits or weaknesses. If characters have prior knowledge of each other, that can be used.

-All characters are "in character" unless otherwise specified.

- You ONLY have 30 points to construct your team. You will be disqualified if you are over this amount.

-Victory is by death, knockout, BFR or incapacitation.

-Team chemistry does come into play.

-Characters with guns have unlimited ammo unless specified otherwise.

-Characters with bows/throwing knives have unlimited razor arrows/knives unless specified otherwise.

-Characters still need to reload.

-Your team MUST consist of at least 2 characters. You can have more than two if you want, as long as you have enough points left.

-The same character can be picked by multiple debaters, they are not removed from the board once picked.

-You may not use more than 3 add-ons for a single character. Team add-ons do not contribute to this total.

-No tele-dropping, tele-dismemberment, or tele-BFR.

-All characters are limited to only Comic Book feats, with the exceptions of Video Game characters and Anime Characters.

-If a debater fails to show up for an extended period of time (greater than ~ 4 days) then I will be forced to disqualify them.

5 - Gives each of your characters a Vibranium Shirt which protects their chests and backs only.

1 - Ghillie Suit – Blends in perfectly with surroundings, but only while stationary.

1 - Each of your Unarmored Characters receives a Kevlar Vest.

GEAR:

2 - Telepathic Link for your entire team .

2 - One can of Healing Spray that can be used one time to heal any character. They must still be alive.

1 - Each of your team members is given an Earbud Comm-Link.

1 - Thermal/X-Ray/Night Vision Goggles for each member of the team.

CHARACTER:

3 - All your characters are Bloodlusted; their intelligence and emotional state is unaffected, but they will kill without hesitation or remorse.

3 - Begin the match with full knowledge of your foes abilities, traits, powers and potential weaknesses

2 - Your team has 45 minutes to plan / strategize and is told the names and only basic powers of who they are facing. During this time they cannot access additional information on their foes or bring additional equipment.

2 - Your team’s jumping, climbing, walking, and running are silent.

1 - Your team is immune to pheromones, tear gas, and poison gas.

1 - Eliminates all rivalries, disagreements, and bad blood within your team. Everyone will cooperate with and respect one another, even if they normally wouldn’t.

3 - The Zapata Brothers join your team. They are armed with pistols and will obey your orders.

3 - Ty Lee (Unarmed), Mai (Throwing Knives), and Sokka (Armor, Boomerang, Meteorite Sword), join you.

2 - Victor Zsasz and Brutale join your team. Both have several knives.

2 - Captain Price and "Soap" McTavish, each armed with an Assault Rifle, Pistol, and Frag Grenade join you.

2 - Kick-Ass w/ Battle Staves, Hit Girl w/ Katanas, and Big Daddy w/ Assault Rifle join your team.

1 - 5 Hand Ninjas armed with Katanas and Nunchaku will join your team.

1 - 5 HYDRA soldiers are at your disposal, armed with Assault Rifles.

I just don't like the "first come, first served" way it turns out otherwise. Personal preference.

First come first serve with a store system like this is the stupidest possible route to go, especially given that you can enter your team in secret.

@boschePG That's why I like this particular system. You have the set of things you can use, and you get to decide how to best combine them.

@Esquire: Ok, one more Q, are weapons hidden with the cloaks?

@joewell: Yeah, it makes your character, including his weapons, totally invisible when you're still or move slowly. There's a slight shimmer when you move quickly, though.

Bucky Barnes, Batman, Nightwing and 616 Captain America. The perks i want are the immunity to pheramones and gas, and the 45 minute prep.

@boschePG: You can find youtube clips of most of the fights, if it comes to that. It's usually enough to just explain the feats, though.
