Yep i know Electro can be a buffoon 99% of the time but in this encounter things might change.Scenario is Max gets a weeks prep by Magneto for his encounter with Gambit..
Gambit also gets prep on Electro but for just 48 hrs by none other than Spidey..
Battle takes place in Yellowstone national park (deserted)..
Gambit has a full deck of card & his staff for this encounter..
Both fighters start 1,000 yards apart at Dawn..
Who wins?

The opening gap is too great. It actually gives Electro all the time he needs to attempt and electrocute Gambit before he manages to close the gap with his superior agility and  use his cards offensively, or as a distraction. There also isn't much cover, since they're fighting in a park. Info by Spidey is good, but if Gambit cannot bring any form of equipment to shield himself from Max's attacks, it isn't of much help, seeing that Magnus is a master with great experience, and precision, that would help Electro understand his powers a lot better even in a relatively short time frame. Not to say, he has faced Gambit quite a few times, and it is obvious that it is Electro's personality that hinders his potential. The prep and the man who instructs him, should negate that. All in all, it is Magneto, someone that doesn't actually participate in the fight itself, that makes all the difference here.

Thank you, I assumed it would be an open field. That makes things more interesting.

Gambit's superior stealth abilities could be very important here...But I would imagine that a simple shield erection will be amongst the very first things Magnus would advise Electro to do, in order to protect  himself at all times, much like Magneto himself does...That way, Gambit’s chances to ambush/surprise Electro would lessensignificantly.

Im not 100% sure about that? But when Gambit exhausts his use of cards he does have an unlimited supply of other items to charge ie- Twigs, pebbles..But like already mentioned by Morpheus Max should be at the top of his Game for this battle if he takes the advice of Magneto..& we all know wot happens to wood when its struck by Lighting ;-)

I see Electro taking this easily. His training(prep) with Mags will possibly give him understanding to use his powers correctly and to have the advantage. I may be overestimating his power/intelligence but wouldn't it be as easy as throwing a shield up and waiting for Gambit to show himself. Gambit is ALL offensive with no real defense besides s fighting H2H. That wont do him any good in a battle with a person who can surround their body with high voltages of electricity. His cards (should) have limited effect if any if Mr sparky here blows them up before they even touch him or his shield. Then it would be a simple matter of frying Gambit.  Also wouldn't that staff be an excellent lightning rod?!
