Each Eclipso varies in power from the other. I never read James Robinson's JLA in order to know how this version performed overall, besides an out of context scan in which he cleaved the Spectre in half. If he can actually perform at such a level or at any level that would enable him to feasibly compete with the Spectre, Darkseid is a goner.
@Morpheus_: Well, Robinson's Eclipso cleaved the moon in half with that sword of his, but the Final Crisis Darkseid was pulling the entire universe into a doomsday singularity just by being present.
@Morpheus_: Granted its not really a combat feat, but it serves as a indicator of what kind of power Darkseid has. Like if he can ruin a universe by dying, isn't it a big weak on Eclipso's part that he actually has to strike the moon to break it? But there is another angle to this, the Spectre couldn't permanently kill Darkseid because of a command from above, as the Spectre's predecessor, its possible that rule is still in place for him. Finally Darkseid was pretty much 3 billion people at the point in FC that the pic is from and all of them could project Omega Beams.
@Outside_85: As I haven't read the story in question, I'm merely debating for the sake of it, really. But if he has the power to overpower the Spectre, physically striking the moon could probably make for a more vivid representation of his power, as opposed to inability to simply do it with a thought.
The Spectre couldn't kill Darkseid permanently, but he did kill him. Hal would have to either relace Darkseid, or let him live, which makes sense within contex of a story, but in a battle thread, even if the restriction in question still stands, a KO, incapacitation or first death would result in Eclipso winning.
@CitizenBane: As the 52 were built up they way they were, then yeah if Darkseid had succeded then the others would have followed suit. @Morpheus_: Well that's true I guess, but i have to say that both the Spectre and Eclipso's powers always seems to be in flux at times being horrendous and at other times being pushovers. Like we've seen the Spectre go toe to toe with the Anti-Monitor and imprison Eclipso within his diamond when he pulled himself together and at other times we've seen Nekron wave him off like he was nothing. Same with Eclipso, on one had we seem him/her/it cleave the moon in two in the other it's getting beat up by a demonic bouncer. But regardless, I still think Darkseid wins due to omega powers and that he's currently not in a single body.
