Mercer has been able to effortlessly fling a tank with one hand, one shot a chopper with a kick, handled tanking rocket launchers to very little to no effect, took a direct hit from a creature that sprayed a block-wide blast that could blow up tanks on contact, and has regenerated from a nuclear bomb (though he did need to feed off of a crow to speed up the process).

Then accounting for all of his shape-shifting abilities too, he has a variety of both offensive and several defensive abilities formed up of biomass. His most powerful attacks can be used to bust buildings, from the inside out. There's a bunch of other feats too, but this is what I can recall off the top of my head ;P

Alex. Durge can't really hurt him. At least not significantly..

@pope052: He could win then. I'm not sure how well Alex takes electricity, but Durge shouldn't be capable of inflicting much harm to him. Building-destroying attacks can KO Durge, but he could reconstitute himself eventually so it could also be a stalemate.

Yeah, Mercer did show a susceptibility to electricity. However, one could argue for that to be PIS. And how long would it take for Durge to reconstitute himself?

@pope052: Why would it be PIS?

Quite a while. It depends on the victory condition and whether breaking Durge's pieces apart counts as a KO, or if Mercer has to permanently kill him.

Because the game severely limits you in pretty much everything in the fight against Cross (a regular human soldier), where he uses a taser. And alright, how fast is Durge by the way? Mercer is at least a bullet timer based on what's canon, but if we included game mechanics, his running speed is a really strong advantage.

@pope052: Durge is able to keep up with Jedi such as Obi-Wan and Anakin, and has dodged attacks from them on top of claiming to see Obi-Wan in slow-motion. In the EU - Anakin and Obi-Wan are extremely fast. Obi-Wan has formed webs and shields out of his blade and deflected blaster fire from entire armies at once, whilst Anakin has encased himself in the light of his blade, fought fast enough to appear to be everywhere at once, dodged lightning, caused Dooku to see an entire room through an electric blue haze (his lightsaber), deflected fire from miniature armies, etc.

@shootingnova:

Durge would have the strong speed advantage then, so what makes you think Mercer might be able to win though?

@pope052: He is slower than the Jedi though. All he said was that he claimed to have seen Jedi in slow-motion, which is just sight, not combat or even reaction speed, and we don't even know if this is true or not.

Durge still doesn't seem to be able to harm him. But since I don't know Alex Mercer that well, I'll let you judge for yourself. Just take a look at my respect thread for Durge: http://www.comicvine.com/forums/gen-discussion-1/durge-respect-thread-1557965/

@pope052: Couldn't Mercer consume Durge?

It depends, is Durge purely a robot? If so, then probably not since Mercer has only really consumed living organisms. If not then maybe, though he'll probably need to weaken him first.

Durge has a meaty, organic centre.

Okay, then if Mercer eventually manages to tear off the surrounding metal, he could likely do it.
