He was created to kill only Thanos, doesn't that mean he is not as powerful against other opponents? I thought there was some weird plot device about that whole "created to destroy Thanos" thing...

@texasdeathmatch: I only started reading the cosmic stuff again after the Annihilation wave, but what I've seen from Drax is that he is a beast (and on a side note; a surprisingly well developed character)

Ares is done so wrong in Marvel! If he were writing correct he'd be either Thor's or Odins Rival if he were the true God of War! Well at least he should be! If I were the creator this would be his powers

So Marvel is wrong based on what you THINK Ares should be? You say even the Thing could stomp him as if the Thing is weak.

Athena's an Olympian god and only class 40. Balder and the warriors three are all gods, and they're not even close to stronger then Ares. The only gods that display class 100 feats are Hercules, Thor, Odin, and Zeus. That's it. It's not like the title of God makes someone the greatest warrior on earth.

1. How can you say that Marvel is wrong if you're only basing that on what you want his power-set to be like?
2. He obviously isn't on the same level as Herc or Hulk, let alone Thor, but that certainly doesn't classify him as a chump.
3. Ares would mop the floor with Thing if armed with his standard equipment.
