@thanofleeze: It wouldn't happen to the Sorcerer supreme. Hasn't yet, which means it won't. Strange will summon cosmic entities to deal with Despero quite easily.
@wastelandman: Why wouldn't Telepathy work on Strange when Despero has destroyed Martian Manhunter in basically every telepathic battle?
Assuming it's Pre-52 version BTW.
Strange has resisted TP from Dormammu/abstract-level beings, a mind wipe from HoM Wanda and even TP from the Mind Gem so I'm skeptical Despero can TP Strange where all those instances failed. His mental defense has explicitly been stated to be practically an astral constant which isn't surprising because his whole business is exploring places and viewing sites that have been stated and shown to drive pretty much anyone insane instantly. He has some of the best mental defense in MU.
Strange would likely be passively shielded prior to the fight. As previously stated, he's shown resistance to stronger telepaths than Despero, so that's not a problem. The only real problem comes from Despero's speed. Strange has varied through comics in reaction speeds, certainly by default better than any human but he augments his abilities to an unknown degree through magic and universal knowledge. He can also phase his physical form in addition to astral projection. All he has to do is fend off/avoid Despero for a second and destroy him with any number of magical powers or just banish him to another dimension or into a black hole.
Strange stomps. The only two things Despero has is telepathy and brute strength. The former won't work given all the hax and protection spells Strange has plus his own extremely powerful telepathy. And the latter is literally useless since not only was Strange able to tank attacks from beings way more powerful than Despero, but if you want to beat Strange, you need counters to hax, not raw durability. Counters Despero does not have. There are a bunch of ways for Strange to win this.
