Beyonder is Pre-retcon, as in during the Secret Wars.
Dr. Manhattan vs. The Beyonder
This topic is locked from further discussion.
"They can both do anything."
No, Manhatten can not do ANYTHING! Not even close. Beyonder can do anything, Q can do anything, Manhatten can not, he has limitations! You just pitted him against a being who'm back in the day (of secret wars) no one could touch him or rival his power!
Beyonder would just toy with Manhattan. If it came down to a confrontation, Beyonder would just remove Doc's memories of events. Beyonder was never really a confrontational person. If they started warping reality at each other Beyonder would just erase Manhattan. Beyonder is the clear-cut winner here.
Okay, I've posted two battles with Dr. Manhattan. Each was a curbstomp, one for him and one against. I'll try one more time.
"Nobody said:What has Beyonder done that Manhattan couldn't?"Beyonder hasn't done anything Manhattan can't."Your kidding."
Manhatten is not omnipotent for 1
manhatten doesn't even have any feats to show he's on a league of the same as the beyonder
the beyonder can think he wont exist and that will happen
beyonder has no limits to his power he's the strongest there is
1. The way he is described in the Watchmen he is. He can do whatever he wants.
2. Manhattan has plenty of feats. Spoiler! At the end of the Watchmen Manhattan stays that he is leaving this galaxy for another one less complicated and was going to go create his one "human life". That is a pretty grand feat, and out of all the feats he's done, Manhattan never seemed to exert any effort at all. His mind could be split into many tasks and not once was he distracted.
3. Manhattan could do the same
4. Beyonder is not the strongest there is, and Manhattan has no limit either
"But he has no feats showing this does he,"He is a character that was only around for a short story that had to do the back history of several other characters as well as his, plus telling the story. Showing huge amounts of feats would not have worked. But from what was stated and what was shown, you can judge that he is no different than the Beyonder at all.

Manhattan can do a lot of things that Beyonder can, but not all. For one, the Celestials couldn't handle Beyonder. I don't think they'd have a problem handling Manhattan. I may be mistaken, but Beyonder can reality warp, no? If so, there was never any indication that Manhattan could.
It is possible that Manhattan was on his way to becoming something like Beyonder. It was implied that he would pretty much just keep growing more and more powerful and more and more out of touch with everything, but when we're talking about Beyonder, we're talking about the true ceiling that anyone could hope to attain, and even if Manhattan did become Beyonder for all intents and purposes... could the Beyonder defeat the Beyonder?
Beyonder's page also states that he has knowledge of everything past and present. I don't think that's true with Manhattan, who ONLY (lol) has knowledge of everything that's going to happen within his lifetime... along with understanding the make-up of anything he comes across on a molecular level. While his lifetime may stretch on forever, it doesn't include everything that has ever been in the past.
"Oh I'm not saying Manhattan wins. I never said Manhattan wins. I simply stated that I don't believe there is a thing the Beyonder has done that Manhattan could duplicate.Nobody said:

The difference, to me, is that Beyonder understands his powers intuitively, while Manhattan is limited to his knowledge of science. Beyonder can do things that even Manhattan might deem impossible. For instance, I don't think Beyonder would be puzzled and mesmerized by tachyons. Manhattan also lived in a more mundane universe than the Marvel one, and couldn't hope to understand the way most super-powers work, since they completely defy established scientific laws and principles. Beyonder had no trouble understanding them, manipulating them, re-creating them. He even found a way to rid the universe of Death. I don't think Manhattan could achieve such a thing, even if he did reach his full potential. Beyonder also had a better understanding of human behavior, even though (pre-retcon) he had never encountered them before. Manhattan was moving further and further away from humanity with each passing day. I don't think he would be great shakes at creating sentient life. He is too bound by logic and scientific principles IMO.
"Beyonder I think takes this. I can't wait to see the Watchmen movie."Hell Yes. That Watchman Movie looks awesome
"Beyonder hasn't done anything Manhattan can't."
Your absolutely f#$@%n kidding me???
If Beyonder is made of matter, Dr. Manhattan wins, cauz he can take beyonder apart. If not, beyonder wins.
" If Beyonder is made of matter, Dr. Manhattan wins, cauz he can take beyonder apart. "Dr Doom amped himself up killed Beyonder, drained Beyonder of his power, destroyed his body, wiped him out from existence, stole all his abilities
What happens?
A few pages leter Beyonder comes back kills Doom and starts curb stomping everyone including wrecking the mutli verse and breaking apart countless realities
That's what Pre Retcon Beyonder is
A God, as in totally omnipitent, totally unbeatable
