With a week of prep? I dunno...Superman's a genius with super speed, he might be able to come up with something. On the other hand, Fate has equal prep, but he's not known as a preppist per se....but he IS the freakin greatest sorcerer in the world...

@comicbooksareawesome123: No they're not pre Coie Fate was physically near superman in strength, invulnerability, ect even without his magic. pre coie Superboy got stomped by Dr Chaos ( an evil version of Fate) who then went to Fate for help who stomped him. Fate for the win hands down. He was a reality warper who had fought Spectre a few times and fared OK. Superman of that era could tow planets on a chin, Fate could move them with his mind.

Dr. Fate wins, not many characters could beat him.

IIRC, SA Supermantended to run whenever he ran into someone who could hurt him.

superman speedblitzing would be useless against someonenwho can time and reality manipulate, who can also see the future. Also what does Supe do in this blitz, Fate is invulnerable even without magic and as physically powerful as him without magic, plus immortal

Dr. Fate........like the others said, he is not only a sorcerer....he also had flight, invulnerability & a high degree of strength which he almost never used, because he seldom needed it. He is not as strong as Superman, but he is tough enough to not be physically threatened by him, either.

If Fate has prep, he's going to have magical shields up that are going to be way, way, way, way beyond Superman's ability to even slightly dent. And while Superman uselessly pounds away at shields that even Odin couldn't hurt, Fate will utter a single spell and Superman will promptly cease existing.

If we're talking about Bronze Age Superman,Kent for the win.But If we're talking about Silver Age Superman he tanked a big bang into his face.Fate couldn't put him down.

he has no weakness to magic. that aura he has around him just doesn't offer any natural protection. it would take some earth shattering magic to put him down. supes still has his overwhelming speed. he could kill dr. fate before he could think.

How? As shown in the scans above Fate cannot die. Also, he has shattered more than one world with his magic.

The Pre Crisis era is when DC comics was clearly sniffing angel dust. Having Superman move planets? What?!

1. Pre COIE Superman didn't have an "aura". His invulnerability was due to his body being evolved to a harsher planet.
2. Magic in the SA affected Superman the same way it did anyone else. Just ask Felix Faust who made him the size of a finger.
3. Pre COIE Fate couldn't be killed. stated in cannon. It wasn't until the first issue after COIE that it was Stated Kent Nelson Fate was weakened enough to be actually able to be killed (Maybe). Those with the power to warp reality couldn't even affect him. Pre COIE Spectre's most powerful attack could only BFR him.

Pre COIE Fate had Super Strength, speed and invulnerability just like Superman. His strength was less but not by much. He also had energy and matter manipulation powers as well as his magic.

The fight ends literally before it begins. SA superman accelerates to his > infinite speeds and oneshots while shattering the timestream. SA superman has absurd speed feats when cutting loose. Dr Fate won't be able to respond.
