It has been done before. Dr Fate did win but it depends upon the version of Dr Fate.

If it is the classic full helmet of Nabu version then Fate wins as he has the full powers of a Lord of Order, has superhuman strength, endurance and durability without relying on casting naugmentation spells and this is before he draws on entreaties from other beings.
