Doomsday VS Solomon Grundy

Doomsday at his most powerful takes on Solomon Grundy at his most powerful! IOW, the Justice League pulverizing, Superman-killing Doomsday takes on the Justice League trashing, Green Lantern crushing Solomon Grundy! No prep or morals, bloodlust is on and the fight is to the death, taking place in a mixture of a space city and a swamp, to fit their respective themes. Who will win? He who is a Superman rogue or he who is a Green Lantern rogue?

I'd take Doomsday. i feel he was created to be the most bad ass dc powerhouse. Good battle though!!

Doomsday would win this. Both are practically unbeatable at their most powerful, but Doomsday would adapt something to beat Grundy.

I don't care what the nursery rhyme says, Grundy would be dead and buried on any day he faced Doomsday.

The most powerful version, either hunter prey Doomsday or Doomsday from Reign of Doomsday who was getting amp from Luthor with his god like powers.

He should absolutely stomp.

Doomsday. Grundy is strong, no question about that, but it's freakin' Doomsday. The guy who made Darkseid feel a twinge of fear. The guy who went on a Green Lantern killing rampage after mugging one for his ring, that ended with a Guardian sacrificing himself to stop. Frankly, I'm surprised Superman managed to drop him.

Superman had to win didnt he, i mean come on what would people say if doomsday would just beat the crap out of superman and never lose.

The only villian who looked almost unbeatable and remained for a long time would be Zoom but they had the character fault in him, he wanted to help them become a better hero than kill and even then he lost in powers in what 4 years time. Thats still pretty fast you know.

@Killemall: I agree Doomsday should've been stopped, but the way they had him thwarted seemed rushed and didn't really make sense. It didn't have to be Superman alone who stopped him.

@Killemall: They'd have been all "It's the motherf~cking Doomsday!"

Also, Doomsday wins.

Just to point out that the precrisis version of Solomon Grundy displayed strength approx equal to precrisis Superman e.g. He was capable of moving the Earth by himself (think Superboy Prime). Therefore this version of Grundy, who could shrug off blows by PC Superman, is significantly stronger than Doomsday and more durable.

Doomsday takes it. Even if he couldn't beat Grundy right away (doubtful), he would just adapt and then beat him.

Doomsday SMASH zombie hulk

So when Superman killed Doomsday through his physical strength (in the Death of Superman story), is it not then possible for Solomon to do the same especially since Doomsday's rebirth only made him immune to the level of physical strength Supeman had (in his pre new 52 days). Solomon is massively stronger.

#25 Posted by Spartan101 (1530 posts) - 1 year, 2 months ago - Show Bio

@Enemybird: true supes was not at his best,,but dr fate does also state that grundy with chaos magic had no upper limit. its non canon but op says most powerful version.

It wasn't superman alone that stopped. Doomsday first fought the Justice League in addition to Superman with one arm tied behind his back. Then He fought Superman and Maxima together. Then Superman and Supergirl and Cadmus soldiers. Superman was just the last hero standing and was able to deliver the final punch.

Doomsday at his most powerful wrecks almost anyone . One of the most powerful doomdsays i have seen was when he turned good and went to rescue superman in that magog series. I still that ones the strongest doomsday since HP and Doomslayer. DOOM Slayer in fact should be the most powerful version.

Depends on what happens and whose smarter. They're both idiots to begin with, but both have superhuman strength. Grundy's tossed Supe around, so he's got strength. On the other hand, you have Doomsday, who strength is on par if not greater than Superman's. I'd go with Doomsday, but it ain't a stomp
