Doctor Strange vs Zatanna - Battles

In Marvel Comics, Doctor Strange is the Sorcerer Supreme and he is almost a god with his powers, he rivals the Surfer's powers and he is one of the most powerful beings on Earth but Zatanna is the greatest Magician in DC Comics, she is powerful as well but who would take it if one were to fight the other? Who would win in a battle?

Doc wins and I don't think that Zatanna is the most powerful sorcerer in DC earth. I think original dr Fate was

Strange, not only because Zatanna is less powerfull but also because her magic can't affect people

I don't know much about either of these mages but I was wondering: Did Dr. Strange's popularity grow when the Harry Potter series became a big hit?

Remember, Zatana mindwipped Dr. Light and nearly every time she fights, she yells "Peels!" and trys to put somebody to sleep.

It wasn't retconned a writer just added it in once to prevent her from insta-winning a fight (I remember the reviewer asking where the hell that made up rule came up from) , same writer probably had her turning people to frogs the next issue.

Actually there was a retcon at the end of the Satellite era that made her magic only elemental ( as in it could only affect the four elements of Wind water fire Earth). It has since been retconned back to the way it was prior.
