Let's say the Punisher is going after the Joker and he uses the same tricks he does on Batman, traps and all. Do you think the Punisher would be able to survive through it all and capture and kill the Joker, even when they meet face to face?

Has the Joker ever really tried to kill Batman? If the Joker knew who and what the Punisher was, he'd set different traps that just killed him without screwing around. Frank would probably bore the Joker so he wouldn't play elaborate games.
If Frank had some knowledge on the Joker, he might be able to kill him. He wouldn't be as distracted by saving hostages as Batman. The Punisher would just kill him the moment he got the chance. Really, it doesn't make a lot of sense that Punisher has any recurring villians.
I can see Castle def putting away the joker if he had the chance.
Punisher, Heck if the batman didn't care for the jokers sake, then he might as well killed the him the first time they met.
Punisher would just snipe him from 800 yards away and be done with it
Frank murders Joker and everyone who looks like Joker. He'll research for four days before he makes a move so any traps and such would probably be uncovered. Especially with how much Joker is in the news.
I think that the Joker would just piss him off. Batman has a code that he follows. He could've killed Joker tons of times but he didn't because he doesn't kill. Punisher kills. Joker would cause slight trouble but he would be dead.
Guys, this is question is a lot more complex than it sounds. Both parties perform with lots of prep. The Joker makes masterful plans that work in the long run, and Frank has to mentally and physically prepare for all his executions with the proper weapons, gear and sometimes backup over a comm link with a partner.
Both parties can kill each other. It's %100 dependent on the situation and scenario.
It is depending on how you look at it.This is not a battle.
Hold up now guys, according to OP, Joker known punisher is coming. I'm sorry to say, but if Joker prepares, Punisher is doomed.
If Punisher could get the drop on Joker however...

Punisher kill joker first time everytime
I agree with slim it depends on the situation. The have capability of killing each other
Punisher wins, from what the OP is saying, it seems like Joker is ready to trap Batman, and I believe Punisher could survive those traps, Joker would walk out to the Punisher and instead of a "This ends now" sort of discussion that he would get from Batman, he is greeted with a shotgun.
Joker would win if he was trying to kill Frank. There are many times where he could've killed Batman, Joker is a prep genius.
For your answer on if Joker wasn't out to kill Frank, read: Batman vs Punisher for your answer.
If Joker knows he's coming, Frank is doomed.
I think there's already about half a dozen threads like this of the same question, but I feel that Punisher/Batman answers it pretty well:

If legit prep battle for both ... and joker is willing to kill ... punisher bites the dust.
Surely a family member of one of Joker's victims has tried to hire an ex-special forces mercenary to kill the Joker at some point. Is there a story like that where someone just set out to kill him without being all elaborate about it? I'm guessing Joker's popularity amongst comics readers protects him as much as his genius, fearsome reputation, and crazy prep do inside the comics.
