Big Shoes Tourney

Through some Plot Induced Craziness, all beings with above street level abilities have been spirited away. War immediately broke out due to the massive power vacuum eventually 8-16 factions formed who all sought to bring about their vision of what the world should be. It is agreed that a tournament of champions will take place in the various ruins of the world to determine who will rule the world for the next year.

You run one of those factions and you must gather your best warriors and arm them with your best weapons and bring them to the battle.

First you must choose 5 street level people.

• The peak of physical stats is Spider-man.
• No character may possess brain power that has commonly produced above street level feats. So Reed or Doom or Tony are automatically out. This rule will be enforced on a case by case basis.
• Healing Factors will be limited to Deadpool. They have to also be killable.
• No Telepathy above Mr. X.
• No Telekinesis above 1 ton.
• No magic powers but magic knowledge is fine.
• Other powers will be allowed on a case by case basis.
• All forms of media are allowed but if its from a rather unknown source I will need sufficient evidence that they fit here so be prepared to provide it.
• I am sure people will try and sneak a level one nuke or two through so if you find a character to be too much please speak up.
• Choices are on a first come first served basis but I will allow for differing versions to apply.

You get 15 points in each tier to equip your team and they get 1 month to practice with their equipment. Items from these lists cannot be looted. Choose wisely because every item comes with its own advantages and disadvantages. (EX. Lantern Rings will only be really effective on people who exhibit a high amount of that part of the spectrum. If you try and put a Yellow Lantern Ring on Bob, Agent of Hydra, you are going to have a bad time.)

Achievements

Unlike other tourney's perks are awarded to those who choose teams of various compositions. I'll be the final judge of if you qualify but I'll be pretty lenient if your can provide even tangential evidence. A team can qualify for many perks but can have no more than 4 active per round. If you have any ideas for other Perks then feel free to suggest them.

• Just Us League – Choosing only people who were members of the Justice League earns you an Amazo with only the abilities of Superman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, and Aquaman. I'll also allow 1-2 JSA member for this one.

• Ex-Men – Choosing only people who were X-men earns you Bastion.

• Uhh-vengers – Choosing only people who were Avengers earns you Ragnarok.

• Titans Truculent – Choosing only Teen Titans/Young Justice members earns you Indigo.

• Weapon Ex – Choosing only Wolverine-related characters earns you a carbonadium melee weapon or ammunition for every team member. Any Marvel Team will likely qualify for this. :)

• Sundered Bolts – Choosing only Thunderbolts/Master of Evil members earns you the Vision or Jocasta.

• Secret Injustice Club – Choosing only Justice League Villains earns you Red Tornado or Red Torpedo or Red Inferno.

• More like Professor SuX – Choosing only X-men villains earns you Danger & 1 More Month of Training.

• Meek Inherit Earth – Choosing only heroes earns you Full Knowledge on the opposing team.

• Evil Always Wins – Choosing only villains earns you 1 Hour of Prep.

• I Am The Law – Choosing only Anti-Heroes/Anti-Villains earns you Complete Morals Off.

• We Built It – Choosing only technologically empowered people earns you 5 more Low Tier Points for Tech Items.

• Absolute Power – Choosing only genetically empowered people earns you 5 shots of MGH that will double the effectiveness of your powers.

• Boom Headshot! - Choosing 5 marksmen earns your team Anti-metal Ammunition.

• Martial Law – Choosing only hand to hand fighters earns your team Vibranium Gauntlets and Greaves that don't inhibit combat.

• It's a Trap – Choosing only trappers earns you 30 minutes to review the battlefield and make minor modifications but they do not get information on the enemy team.

• Every Color of the Rainbow – Choosing characters from different fiction grants you Perfect Teamwork. You team will work as though they have worked together for years.

• Japan is Weird – Choosing all anime/manga characters earns you 1 year of training with your items.

• Syfy is a Stupid Name – Choosing all science fiction characters earns you either 2 Xenomorphs, 2 T-800s, or 2 Borg Drones.

• May The Force Be With You – Choosing only Star Wars Characters gets you 5 ARC Troopers and 5 Lightsabres.

• One Hand Tied – Choose only 4 members for your team and you get 5 Mid Tier Points.
• Girl Power - Choosing only female characters earns you 25% off all female owned items, rounding applies. (EX: 1.5 = 2, 1.2 = 1)

Supreme Judgement

As I highly dislike how voting is handled around here I would like to create a panel of 5, 7, or 9 people to handle all voting for the tourney. As informed voters are the best voters, this will promote better debating because poor debating with good characters will not earn you the win as is often the case. These people will be required to make between 7 and 15 votes depending on how many people we have compete. Votes will need to include at least 2 points that decided your vote, a tip for the debaters on how to improve, and any other relevant information. You can compete and also judge so if you think you are up to snuff then please volunteer to judge. I may DQ you based on your previous voting record.

What kind of characters would qualify as a "trapper" for the It's a Trap achievement?

How do you get the nullifier if there are only 15 points?

@jokergeist: Characters who use traps as means of attack. Everyone from the Trapster to Kraven will count. Post your team and I can tell you whether or not they qualify.

@thedarklordpandamonium: Starman and Captain Steel are too powerful. Ted Kord would be acceptable but not Jaime. Hourman, assuming Rex or Rick, would be acceptable.

Kenji is likely out due to his potential durability and strength. I would also disallow Pym for the same reason. Delta will only be able to carry 8 plasmids as per the game not all 10.

@diredrill: If I were to choose people from Beelzebub, would their demon-contracted powers be counted as magic?

@diredrill: What about: Mr Terrific, Black Canary, Hourman, Hawkgirl, Hawkman for JL team?

@diredrill: Kenji should be fine in the strength department as he has never shown strength above the limits under his own control.

Durability is another issue, you haven't listed anything about healing factors so he may be out on that.

Banking allows you to delay a pick of an item until you need it in a round. If in the first round you look at your opponent and see you need some Webshooters, you can buy them. It allows you some flexibility should you not desire to spend all of your points initially. Once banked points are used, they can't be used again so once you buy those webshooters you have them for the rest of the tourney.

My point about Kenji is that he can alter his structure to alot of things that may conceivably too much. I always like to assume that the no telepathy rule takes into account any form of mind control.

@docnick: Dwarfstar seems fine. Cold is out unless you choose to use him without his Cold Gun, his Cold Gun is a high tier item for a reason.

@diredrill: Depends on what roaches you're talking about, the newer evolved roaches seemed pretty durable(one of them just stood there while being assaulted on acting like nothing was happening)

However, the standard roaches have been shown to be sliced by swords and penetrated by bullets.

The strongest people in terms of strength are around 10 tons, maybe a little bit higher.
