Lobo took literally no damage from it, after this the Justice League kept trying to stop Lobo from fighting him, I guess due to all the damage he would cause.
Also Lobo is immune to mind control, as he has a tiny radio in his head that is always blasting heavy metal.
@highaccuser Yeah, good luck dealing with Lobo's durability
Had the JL not stopped Lobo, Despero was going down one way or another.
@lobothemainman23: He doesn't need to get through Lobo's durability when he has telepathy.
@highaccuser Doesn't effect Lobo, he has a radio in his head blasting Metal music 24/7 that renders telepathy useless. Ill put up scans later.
Despero stomps.
@lobothemainman23: He'd still need much better telepathy defenses than Martian Manhunter to stand a chance and I doubt he does. Besides Lobo can one-shot Superman and Captain Marvel at once. Lobo doesn't have feats on that level.
@highaccuser: Well Lobo usually just shrugs off Telepathy, so if that's out of play I have no clue how he's taking Lobo down. Brute force is not the way to fight Lobo.
@lobothemainman23: Shrugging off telepathy isn't enough. Jonn can easily enter the minds of telepaths who should be capable of the same and Desepero takes him down easily with telepathy.
Brute force isn't the best way to beat Lobo but someone who can one-shot Superman will manage.
@highaccuser:Lobo resisting a villain that was able to take over Martian Manhunter.
Is reduced to only his soul and possesses a snail, who seems to take on his strength/durability. Then somehow forces it back to his normal form
Lobo also has several planet busting weapons. What part of can't die don't you understand? This is actually not just a win, its a Lobo stomp.
Lobo can't lose round 2. And round one is a lot closer than people think. The Neural Djinn couldn't mind control Lobo. Lobo's clones resisted Starro. The one time he might have been mind controlled was Brainiac but it's far more likely he was playing along so that Vril Dox II would die.
As far as oneshots, Lobo tossed Captain Marvel who didn't get up the rest of the issue and Superman oneshotted Despero with heatvision. Virtue and Vice was Despero's best, and if we are talking best, Lobo has fragged DC's Odin, Kali, Poseidon and others at the same time. Don't get me wrong, I'd favor Despero in round one due to better League busting showings but remember, Lobo was introduced as a League buster when he debuted as a Czarnian.
Just a bonus to the mind control resistance thing. Jonn being controlled by Starro, and a Lobo clone resisting it.

God that end. WORST line ever.
Despero might win round one due to better brute strength on average but I repeat for those of you in the cheap seats:
- Lobo has resisted mind control from Despero himself (Superman/Batman #32), his clones have resisted starrophytes albeit with fatal heart attacks (R.E.B.E.L.S. volume 2), and the Neural Djinn couldn't mind control Lobo (Lobo #58). This has nothing to do with the radio in his head which was later given to Neron in issue #22.
- Lobo has blitzed Jurgens era Superman (Adventures of Superman #464), dodged a barrage of oncoming missiles at near lightspeed entirely (Mister Miracle, Wein's run circa issue #13 or 14 I forget which), scrapped a roomful of robots in literally the space between panels (Mister Miracle again), and reacted faster than Deadman could think (Deadman/Lobo: The Brave and the Bald). If Despero has better reaction times, by all means PROVE IT.
- Lobo has died to Feces blasting him in half, but roughed up the afterlife (Hell which included Etrigan and several demons, as well as parts of Heaven which included DC's Odin, Poseidon, Kali, and Buddha among many others) so bad that he came back to life and killed Feces with his own gun and his brother Loo. Lobo has died since to himself (and failed to kill himself on another occasion) and by letting Darkseid kill him and he got better each time. So killing Lobo is not probable.
Despero is not stomping or winning let alone killing Lobo with ease unless we exclusively use Virtue and Vice while discounting Lobo's highends such as wrecking the Authority sans Jenny, tossing a being with stellar mass with no leverage with ease, or knocking out Eclipso.
For everyone saying Despero kills Lobo with no difficulty ask yourself
- why didn't he when they fought? They traded blows long enough for Lobo to sweat and Despero wasn't oneshotting Leaguers then (JLI "Breakdowns")
- are you focusing on Virtue and Vice only? Despero has been defeated by Secret, Superman (who downed him with a single blast of heatvision in the pages of Superman/Batman), and didn't look so hot against sharks. Sure Lobo has his low showings too but he's matched Despero and has highends of his own.
- how does Despero deal with Lobo's immortality, which I might add he got by beating up numerous deities and demons and angels?
This is closer than you'd like to admit. Also for the minority saying Lobo stomps he doesn't either.
I'm sure after topping this I'll see more knee jerk posts like "Despero." " Despero with ease" "mind[screw]" "Despero oneshot Superman and Captain Marvel one time so it's the end all." but I ask you to please give a considerate response and read my post or at least some comics other than Virtue and Vice.
