Darkseid should be able to handle Despero... DS could hit Despero up with the Omega Beams and end this fight

Despero should win it, typically Darkseid will fall after Superman punches him a few times in the face

Why wouldn't they? They affect anyone outside of teh Source or beings more powerfull, and that's not Despero!

Darkseid wins. There is absolutely no reason why the OB wouldn't work on Despero...No importance to the Universe whatsoever..And no plot here to prevent him, and save him like Kal-El..If he was restricted to use them, then it would be a lot more interesting.

Despero wins. His telepathy and brute strength that is above Supes (Superman defeated Darkseid by punches many times) will make Darkseid bleed.

I can't speak for current Despero. But I do like how current Darkseid is a League-level threat - and that includes Superman.

Darkseid could definitely BFR him, transmutation i am not that sold really. The only real high feat of transmutation i can recall of would be against Cyborg, and thats about it. Rest are normally against his minion, or a chess piece against Eclipso.

@killemall: It's good enough, especially since I haven't seen anything from Despero suggesting he can defend himself from transmutation....have you? Also, Darkseid has shown some serious teleportation feats, instant type stuff, disappeared right from Superman's and Infinity Man's faces while they were looking right at him. In another instance, Orion was practically in the next room as Darkseid was about to grab someone and as he bust through the wall .... Uxas was gone along with who he snatched, I haven't seen him use it in battle (cus if he did it'd make comics with him in it a lot less interesting, teleport pimp slaps all over the place) .....

So, I'm sure we agree that both incarnations of Darkseid would beat Despero....(maybe not in a physical battle, but overall)

Darkseid would beat Despero simply by removing him into the sun or to the end of time.

If they had actually fought pre-52 Darkseid would have almost certainly been written as being able to beat Despero easily enough. This is sort of evident when they considered him minor enough to job to the Martian Manhunter.

The second part isn't an argument it's merely my opinion on what would take place.

The first part is all that needs to be said, it's hard to argue for post crisis omega beams damaging effect as they seem to have the strength of plot no more no less. Teleporting someone with those same beams on the other hand to anywhere in time and space is an attack you can take to the bank, when Superman squared off against him he has teleported him back to Earth from Apokilips saying he will finish him off another time, he could have just sent him to any other dimension or to the heart of a red sun.

Darkseid has shown telepathic resistance if not outright immunity against Martian Manhunter, Despero has shown nothing that would would prevent him being teleported to the big bang.
