I was having an argument with a friend recently about this. Personally I lean more towards Iron man, but I am much more so of a fan of DS.

Spite.
DS is awesome, but he has nothing on him to take on Iron Man, who could just fly circles around him and pepper him with ranged attacks. Also keep in mind that Iron Man's armor also grants him super strength. This means he'll hit harder.
In Civil War, when he took on Captain America, who I'd put at around DS's level, Tony beat him into traction. Cap only beat him during their second fight by having Vision sabotage his armor. Cap himself even admitted that he was "fighting dirty" that time.

Location?
New 52 or Pre
BFR?
Morals?
What JoeWell has said.
And please also create a more fair battle by doing research on each character. You can even as the mods or me for help!
For now, we will assume this is a random encounter, with standard gear, in an open location, current versions.
In this case...
Ironman wins in a stomp.
Vouile
@Vouile: A day or two, If he can do what he did in infinity crisis to Rainer and Wally with prep, both of whom I personally believe would whip Ironman he could take down ironman. Or what he did to the conglomerate in their strongest incarnation. OR what he frequently used to do to the teen titans who have multiple members who would smash ironman like starfire and wondergirl yeah he can prep defeat Ironman.

Iron Man will forcefully take over Slade. With extreme prejudice.
@icysloth:
Maybe...But either way Deathstroke WOULD need much more resources and more preparation in a battle if he's facing against Ironman.
There's no way Deathstroke is beating Ironman with an equal scale of preparation.
Example: One week preparation for each.
Would be a stomp in Ironman's favor since again they have an equal scale of preparation.
The battle scale would need to be tipped massively in Deathstroke's favor, for Deathstroke to win.

Deathstroke is slightly better a prep than iron man in my opinion, as whenever he has it he is generally team busting but tony is good, which is why in my original thread I said one sided prep.

Deathstroke is the better tactician/strategist
He is not the better preparation master among himself and ironman.
Vouile
@Vouile: He is but its mainly has to do with the fact he is a villain, villains team bust more than heroes its just a fact in comics, he just doesn't have the engineering feats, but his strategy prep feats for his limits as a enhanced human are more impressive.
