@jashro44: I am assuming random encounter he wont be aware entirely whats going on he will get a clue from throwing cards and the staff but he may interpret that as tech all Slades armor, helmet and little nick nacks on his belt can all be used against him at closer range he would have to shoot gambit.. if Slade had prep he could more cautions lol he could probably walk out naked with a large animal bone or something :)
My point is Slades not really going to end up in the same position as cap. He usually just cuts peoples heads off and is just done with them. Slade fights to kill.
