@killerwasp:

Maybe their space forces and space defences are superior... But in all novels that I read Necrons land troops are not impressive.

In Fall of Damnos 800 spacemarines nearly defeated entire tomb world. Necrons losses were like 200 to one in SM favor. Necrons also lost 4 necron lords (3 of them in one-on-one battles) to SM, including ruler of Necrons on Damnos, while SM lost only one named character and around 600 of them manage to safely leave the planet along with civilians.

In Soul Drinkers novel 200 of them destroyed entire tomb world on their own.

UO was literally the only truly impressive Necron what I saw in novels.

Not entirely sure what star wars feats are cannon anymore.

not sure how a force user interacts with a necron.

the Undying one likely wins regardless.

@penderor: Force Choke a Machine? Saber throws work in a being who tanks Molecular Power Weapon attacks, and can reform from scrap in several seconds?

Not seeing it. It's spite unless Vader BFRs him, no wait he has the ability to teleport like in the third novel, never mind.

Necrons aren't really machines, they are living metal. But they aren't living, breathing organic beings either.

@killerwasp: Most annoying part in that novel is seeing how nerfed the necron weapons were. At one point a space marine gets hit with a necron gauss flayer and all it did was strip the paint on his ceramite suit. And then later in the novel you see the same necron gauss flayer tech punching holes in tank armor.......wtf

@eisenfauste: Yes, i try not to read any novels that involve ultramarines period, which is prolly why i don't know a lot about it. I prefer my "LEGION" book along with most of the HH novels compared to some of the eh later versions of books. Still love Legion such a good book, made for an awesome chapter! XD

Umhm, yes, but now we have UO and he is very OP. First he is one of three chosens of Void Dragon (and the only chosen left alive from the battle with GEOM). And we have few gems about him. First his ship crossed half of galaxy in several minutes, rammed through a space fort and (note that one of the Chaos ships had nova cannon):

Marduk cast his gaze towards the slowly spinning three-dimensional display showing the relative positions of the Chaos battlefleet. He paid particular attention to the blinking icon that represented the massive xenos vessel. For now, at least, it remained stationary. Already, the Chaos battleships had begun pummelling its sheer hide with cyclonic torpedoes and ordnance, but they had thus far elicited no response; nor had they caused any noticeable effect.

Launched hundreds of active monoliths within minutes, just because he can:

Thousands of skeletal warriors were marching through the streets below, moving in perfect phalanxes. Tens of thousands of Guardsmen flooded the streets, fleeing before them. As the Stormbird pulled higher, Marduk could see hundreds of the black-sided prisms dotted all over the city, and even more xenos constructs were marching from them onto the streets with every passing minute.

As the Stormbird gained altitude, he saw a Reaver Titan of Legio Vulturus surrounded by six of the monoliths.

Even Chaos Marines were impressed by this:

Blinding pillars of light beamed from the ship’s underside down onto the city below, deploying its inhuman armies across the city in a spread of more than fifteen kilometres. Marduk shook his head in wonder. Less than ten minutes after first appearing in the upper atmosphere, the enemy had deployed tens of thousands of its troops and established complete dominion within the city below. Not even Astartes were able to deploy in such force at a speed to match that feat.

And on top of that have Nexus device (not in this battle):

A ripple in realspace burst from the Nexus Arrangement and expanded outwards, gathering speed exponentially as it grew. It exploded outwards from the Infidus Diabolus and engulfed both warring fleets, knocking out communications and scanning relays aboard every vessel in an explosion of sparks and fire. All those with even a modicum of psychic ability fell to their knees, lesser minds bursting with aneurisms and clots, those of stronger stuff suffering intense pain and temporary blindness. Those who had been peering into the warp, notably the astropaths of the Imperial fleet, fell into sub-catatonic states, their minds wiped of all notable activity, collapsing at their posts.

The ripple continued to expand, engulfing nearby planets and moons. Within seconds it had spread across the entire solar system. Only when it reached neighbouring solar systems, over four light years away, did its strength waver.

-

When UO used Nexus:

The glowing sun at its centre seemed to swell, spilling light outwards in a blinding wave, and as the Undying One threw out its hands, the Nexus Arrangement began to operate as its creator had intended… and a psychic black hole was torn open.

-

Across the continents of Boros Prime, unaugmented men and Astartes reeled as the effects of the Nexus Arrangement washed over them. Many of them fell to their knees, gasping, as a terrible, aching pain clutched at the very fibres of their being. It felt as though their souls were being wrenched from their bodies and cast into the abyss, leaving them empty and hollow, mere shells.

A terrible, all-pervading pall of utter futility descended upon Boros Prime, affecting even the most fervent and strong-willed individuals. Millions of soldiers and civilians simply gave up, their will to fight fading, their will to even live deserting them. Some, men who moments before had been fighting for their lives, dropped their weapons and sank to the ground, a fugue of hopelessness overcoming them. With haunted, unfocussed eyes they stared into the distance, oblivious or simply not caring about what was occurring around them. Others turned their weapons on themselves, unable to live with this gut-wrenching emptiness in their souls.

Tens of thousands were slaughtered by the merciless necron warriors marching steadily through the streets, gunning down every living creature that they encountered, whether they resisted or not. It was a harvest of sickening proportions. The streets were awash with blood, and mutilated corpses and severed limbs were scattered about like discarded toys.

Those with the strongest warp presence suffered the worst. Blood clots blossomed within the minds of Imperial astropaths and the sanctioned psykers attached to the command sections of the Boros Guard, and they collapsed to the ground, their bodies wracked with violent convulsions, screaming incoherently as their souls were torn from their fragile bodies.

‘What in the Emperor’s name has happened?’ breathed Aquilius, clutching at a marble railing for balance.

Librarian Epistolary Liventius’s eyes were clenched tightly shut, and his teeth were bared in a grimace of pain. A droplet of blood ran from his left nostril.

‘My lord?’ said Aquilius in concern. The Librarian was leaning heavily upon his force staff, and after a moment he opened his eyes. They were bloodshot and sunken. He placed a hand to his temple, a shadow passing across his face.

‘My powers,’ breathed the Librarian. ‘They are gone.’

-

In orbit above Boros Prime, the Infidus Diabolus shuddered as if it had been struck with cyclonic torpedoes. It listed heavily to one side, its hull groaning in protest as the daemons that had infused its essence since before the outbreak of the Horus Heresy were banished. The strike cruiser’s central processing cogitator units sputtered and died. Reliant on the daemon essences bound into its mainframe, the ship’s thinking computers and hard-wired servitors were unable to function as the malicious spirits were driven out. The ship threatened to come apart at the seams, so intrinsic was the warp to its very existence.

Marduk dropped to his knees, a terrible empty pain clutching at his hearts as he felt his connection to the warp stripped away.

I am sorry but this is too much OP stuff for some Necron Lord. I mean he is obviously far weaker than Silent King or Imotekh or other Necron Lords. Why does he have so much good stuff?

@redzkz: Because necrons are on a whole different level dude, thats why we dislike ultramarines and other such SM chapters. Things that one shot stuff shouldn't be dinked around, I've already talked to other people on this site about this when they wanted to make an IG story of them battling necrons and such. Everyone wants to have their people "win" against the necrons so they job them so hard to where they are not even a threat any more. That is why i say he can one shot, because the higher necron feats he will one shot vader, for it will move faster than vader could even react. Anyway in the end that book should be burned period and i woudnt rely on it being a "solid" case made for necrons especially ultramarines who live through some serious bs..

Honestly Eldar at their empire prime > Necrons empire prime IMO. People talk how insane he Nec tech is, but have you guys see the stuff Eldar (Craftworld and Dark) are capable of with their tech and warp abilities?

I also non jobbing Chaos superior to Necs. Their Warp tech and plain Warp abilities should win any fight. He only reason they lose anything is because the Chaos Gods or Demons just don't care.

Necrons have tachyon arrows move faster than light, melee weapons shatter planets, tanks that can destroy planets, full power overlords are casual planet busters etc. Necrons are hax. Two PIS novels with wanking authors are not evidence for Necrons sucking.

Got any other proof for Necrons being "weak shit" ?

Well, Necron overlords at full power during the war in heaven were casual planet busters. Although, if I remember correctly, this is from the perspective of the Eldar. There was a Necron overlord casually mass scattering a planet, but the only one I saw was from Eldar legends.
