The battle takes place on Mustafar. It is a random encounter.

Battle ends in death.

Both are bloodlusted.

The Balrog is one awesome character IMO.

As for the fight, I'm guessing Sidious will win based on his ridiculous feats.

The balrog is massively big, I don't think Sidious can form a wormhole on him without getting sucked in, as Gandalf was brung down by the Balrog's whip. In my opinion, the Wormhole option is gone. I'm sure there are still plenty other options Sidious has.

The Balrog's physicality being too large to handle a wormhole? Sidious wiped out an entire fleet of Capital ships utilizing Force Storm and without any effort whatsoever. A Balrog's size is irrelevant here.

Here's a "not so anonymous tip" for ya...
this thread seems pointless, spawned from pure ignorance and imagination. the Balrog was felled by an old wizard wielding a staff and sword, Palpatine commands the full power of the force on a planetary scale. the emperor could simply crush the Balrog with the force with but less than a thought or decapitate it with his lightsaber before it could strike. the amount of effort put into this thread is similar to the amount of effort Palpatine would have to put into obliterating the Balrog.

@MasterJohn: He doesn't need a wormhole. Sidious has created Force Storms big enough to demolish entire ships. THose ships would be a hundred times the size of the Balrog.

Alright, lets say your Sidious didn't have the Force Storm ability. How else would he kill him?

@MasterJohn: He could use the Force to literally rip the Balrog apart

Palpatine isn't the only one who commands the full power of the Force....

Anyway, back on topic. What if the Whip ties around Palpatine's foot before he can crush him with the force?

Mismatch. Palpatine omega-stomps.

Lets not forget Palpatine was killed by a large drop.

@Outside_85: We are using current Palpatine (meaning EU Palpatine) who is resurrected and much more powerful than ever before

(nice lowball by the way, shows how experienced a debater you really are)

Yeah let's define a character by a single low-showing. Great idea.

Balrog loses. Heck it lost to Harry Dresden in a previous thread. I don't see why Sidious couldn't take him down.

On his worst day, Palpatine would spite-stomp a Balrog.

#17 Posted by JamesKM716 (1992 posts) - - Show Bio

@MasterJohn: That wouldn't happen. Sidious is too fast. Honestly, Sidious could probably dominate the Balrog's mind if it wanted too

Question, are you saying Palpatine couldn't charge his "Force storms" being in his original body? The current one is a clone.

@N0tS0An0nym0us: Not all of us bother reading the fan fiction that's come after the movies. Oh an nice to know it only takes 1 post before you get all personal, insecure much? And since you missed it; no version of either character is mentioned in the op.

@Baldy: Perhaps you'd rather compare their highest settings that's only used once in a blue moon?

Insecure? LOL no, just well informed and opposing towards ignorance. I guess you are new here....if you actually read the rules you'd know this...

Writing some options again to make sure they’re easy to see:

In Character or Bloodlusted

Prep Time or No Prep Time

Setting (time, location, bystanders, available resources, etc)

Gear (standard weaponry/gadgets/items, unarmed, special weapons)

Character Version (current version, original, alternate universe, etc)

Extra Rules (time limits, boundaries, what counts as win)

When these things are left out it’s generally assumed that characters are fighting to the best of their ability but still within the limits of their personality, using their standard gear, have no prep time, and are their current versions. Their starting distance is close and the setting is most often a city. Without any specifications to a battle, those are what we go by. It’s always best to give as much information about the fight in the first post.

And the "fanfiction" you are referring to is canon to the star wars universe and so counts as a usable source for debating ground. just because you don't know about it doesn't mean it doesn't count... maybe you should educate yourself ....
Also, don't get sensitive cuz i called you out on your lowballing, which is against the rules .....

What Can You Use?

Don’t just use a character’s best showings to determine what they can do, and don’t just use their worst showings to limit them.

Might want to read up bro....

There's nothing inconsistent about Palpatine's high levels of power. The fact that you don't care for the EU doesn't invalidate it as canon. It's not fan fiction no matter how much you may wish it to be so.

Now let's see.... what feats do Balrogs have... Oh yeah. None.
