All character in their prime.
Fight to the death
Who wins?
Either could present a challenge to Sidious in terms of power, while Plagueis could oppose him in a straight up fight for at least some time due to his comparable speed and skill respectable in it's own right(though still nowhere near D.E. Sidious's). If Sidious chooses to blitz Vitiate and/or stomp him in a duel, he'd then overpower Plagueis and win, but if he doesn't, the team wins. Eh, I dunno. I might have to say Sidious wins from a slight to a solid majority.
DE Sidious could probably beat both - after just inhabiting a new body (of a teenager), Palpatine proceeded to dominate Luke. It was on a nexus, but then again, the sole reason for that nexus was Palpatine himself, lol.
He'd probably defeat Plagueis in a duel with similar effort - I honestly wouldn't say Plagueis is more skilled than DE Luke.
@shootingnova: Byss was noted by Luke to have strong darkside energies when he went there for the first time, tho
@burnface: Yes, because Palpatine caused it long ago.
Hmm, depends on the version of Sidious. DE Sidious could take a majority over the team probably taking out Vitiate first, the engage with Plagueis. If its RotS Sidious then I could see the team causing Sidious some problems with comparable power, and speed at least for Plagueis.
@redranger: I base it off of the book: Darth Plagueis.
@redranger: I base it off of the book: Darth Plagueis.
But does he have any real feats against a well established fighter? It was outright stated that Venami's was the more skillful swordsman and that Plagueis was using meditation to win.
Ther'es just not enough info on him,
@redranger: It didn't state Venamis to be the more skilled swordsman, I have the novel, and I have never seen that mentioned at all, Plagueis found Lightsaber duels to be tedious affairs, he basically used a rope a dope strategy allowing Venamis to remain on the offensive until he got sloppy and made a mistake, I didn't get the sense that Plagueis was ever worried about losing he just didn't want to partake in a long duel, after all he brought none of his offensive force powers against Venamis.
It says clearly on pages 75 and 75
"Realizing that the fight could go on indefinitiely, he took himself out of his body and began working his material self like a marionette, no longer on the offensive, instigating attacks, but merely responding to Venamis's lunges and strikes.
Gradually the Bith Understood that something had changed-that what up until then had been a fight to the death, seemed suddenly like a training exercise. Exasperated, he doubled his efforts, fighting harder, more desperately, putting more power into each maneuver and blow, and in the end surrendering his precision and accuracy.
At the height of Venamis's attack, Plagueis came back into himself with such fury that his lightsaber became a blinding rod. A two-handed upward swing launched from between his legs caught Venamis off guard. The blade didn't go deep enough to puncture the Bith's lung but scorched him from chest to chin. As his large cleft head snapped backward in retreat, Plagueis brought his lighstaber straight down, tearing Venamis's weapon from his gloved hand and nearly taking off his long fingers, as well."
Plagueis didn't win via meditation, nor was Venamis more skilled. Plagueis was at a disadvantage in that Venamis was trained specifically against him, whereas he was obviously not prepared to face an assassin of that sort. Despite that, he still won, and the fact that there was no evident speed or strength edge just shows that Plagueis was the plainly more skilled combatant.
Plagueis focusing on the higher mysteries of the Force and disliking lightsaber combat doesn't make him incapable of being skilled. He's not like Vitiate, who is exclusively a scholar. Plagueis was thoroughly trained in lightsaber combat, and thoroughly trained Sidious in lightsaber combat, the latter feat in of itself being an indicator of his skill. Plagueis disliking lightsaber combat doesn't make him unskilled, because Palpatine similarly considered lightsaber combat a waste of time and stated he only carried lightsabers in order to humiliate the Jedi at their own game. Is Palpatine unskilled because of his greater focus on the Force's higher mysteries and lack of appreciation for lightsaber combat? Hardly. The only person that would be more skilled than him is Luke in his prime.
I think that with Lord Vitiate's and Darth Plagueis's combined power they would be able to defeat Darth Sidious but the only thing he has against them is lightsaber duelling Darth Sidious is a better duelist than Lord Vitiate and Darth Plagueis the only decent duelist is Darth Plagueis. Even though Lord Vitiate's and Darth Plagueis's combined power in the force would defeat Darth Sidious. But we have seen on many occasions in Star Wars where very skilled lightsaber duelists have defeated very powerful force wielders in the end it would be a tough one but Lord Vitiate and Darth Plagueis would come out on top
Sidious is the most powerful Sith Lord to ever exist even Plagueis himself commented on Sidious' power. The Sith Emperor is one of the most powerful Sith to ever exist. Plagueis however devoted himself entirely to the study of Midiochlorians and nothing else. Palpatine could easily solo and Vitiate as well could solo.
Team stomps. Plagueis would give Sidious trouble on his own. With Vitiate backing him up Sidious has no chance, although he would beat both in 1-on-1 fights.
The starting distance and positioning is very significant in this fight. If Sidious can reach Vitiate before either Plagueis can intervene or Vitiate can discharge his lightning, Vitiate is taken down and Sidious can probably take out Plagueis in a very tough fight. If, on the other hand, Plagueis is able to get between Sidious and Vitiate, then Sidious is going down. I'd give the majority to the team, but a Sidious victory wouldn't at all surprise me.
@richard96: Yes, it's a stomp. Even RotS Sidious is already more powerful than two Plagueis-tier characters combined by virtue of unbalancing the Force with his mere presence, compared to BoTPM Sidious and Plagueis requiring months of intense meditation to pull it off. He's at least three times more powerful than Plagueis, which is enough for a stomp. Vitiate's presence - who's even weaker than Plagueis - will do jack shit to change that.
And this is DE Sidious, who's even more powerful than his RotS incarnation. It's not a contest.
When the thread was released, SOR Vitiate wasn't a thing, so Palpatine can probably win.
But if it's SOR Vitiate, he loses against both.
