EU Son or Disney Canon Son? I don't recall either being able to do enough to take down Darkseid.

@i_like_swords: Is darkseid jobbing or none jobbing?

In round 1 i could see jobberseid losing at least round 1.1, the son could maybe pull enough wins if to make it go either way ( if that make senses like he could win enough to where it'd be 5/10 to where it could go either way against jobberseid ) on Coruscant. However if its non jobbing darkseid should do fine especially if its the most powerful version ( if hes got the anti life well thats just a mean match lol ) Anyway even the 1.1 Darkseid would still win.

Round 2 I haven't necessary seen darkseid job a ton, and he did well against the justice league and so on even though he lost. He wasn't no longer kinda a supes villain but a way larger role villain, and with that said he may not have the feats he did like in the pre52, but he was still a good strong all around character. I personally feel this would be a closer match but i might back him again this round against the Son.

2.1 I'd prolly pick the son, because the amp from the place might just be enough to give the son the win.

This is just my thoughts though.

@killerwasp:

I guess it's up for debate as to what level Darkseid should be at versus what is shown. To make things simple you could just make separate answers depending on what writer he's under.

Thanks for the detailed post!

@i_like_swords: Np, and yeah I guess it would depend on the writer and stuff, like you said, but most versions besides if we are being really picky should take a slight majority over "the son", but I think new52 although lacks feats, but hasn't done anything necessary so out of reach for "the son" that it wouldn't be considered a good fight. However, I haven't kept close eye on new52 as much as I should and so I could of missed a real big thing he did. Good fight though!

The Son seems to be on a higher plane than DS pre-New 52, if I'm being frank. New 52 Darksied, from what I know, is a noticeably above his pre New 52 self.

I could easily make a case for The Son taking round 2 as well, but I don't know just how much that argument would stick.

I don't see what the problem is, everything counts as a factor in a fight

The Son's power is almost entirely metaphorical, to be honest. Not sure if he's appropriate for battle threads.

There's nothing metaphorical about Palpatine or Abeloth's power.

@i_like_swords: You mean because they've had fights against more exposed characters of their level, which makes it easy to judge their respective power levels? It's not entirely clear how powerful the Son is in comparison to Abeloth, to be honest. All we know is that with the Daughter (and the Killiks), the Son was able to beat and imprison Abeloth.

@burnface: That's not to undermine his power or anything, since Abeloth is purportedly only capable of being beaten by a light-sider and dark-sider together.

@shootingnova: Oh not that's not what I meant. It just implies to me that Abeloth could beat him on her own.

@burnface: Possibly. There's quite a number of people supporting the notion that any of the Ones is individually above Abeloth.

@shootingnova: Not seeing that other than the Father of course. If he needed help that's at least an implication that he couldn't defeat her on his own. That and her feats surpass his by quite a bit.

@burnface: Well, it's quite possible that the Father and the Ones combined their strength to defeat Abeloth at first. There's slight implications regarding Abeloth's inability to die except by virtue of the Blade of Mortis, which was also capable of killing the Ones. The Killik panels are very unclear.

We do know that Abeloth gained her powers from both of the Pool of Knowledge and the Font of Power (the Daughter and Son only gained their powers from one each), which would suggest that she's more powerful, except she was initially a powerless mortal, as compared to the Daughter and Son, who were implied to be Celestials or at the very least, godlike Force wielders to begin with.

They are, though only by Star Wars standards. Among their most powerful feats are draining planets, leeching populations of thousands, and creating wormholes that can absorb whole fleets. Darkseid could do those things in his sleep, especially Post-Crisis. The Son in particular is a Celestial, the most powerful force-wielding species. And yet he hasn't done anything close to Darkseid's level nor any DC or Marvel character of his tier. Unfortunately, the Star Wars fanbase has a habit of overrating its characters, to the point where we have threads like these created.

The best wank for The Son is probably The Father saying that he restrains his children to Mortis because they would destroy the fabric of the normal universe if they were able to get out. They probably have mind-bending hax based on what we've seen of them and in comparison to mortal Force users who themselves have insane hax.

Shit, The Son based on everything we know is insanely more powerful than Sidious... and Sidious was well on his way to creating Force storms that can destroy anything and would eventually expand to consume the entire galaxy... (I mean, they are created by shattering the space-time continuum in the first place). And we have other characters doing shit like shunting artificial singularities (dovin basals) which are used to shield turbolaser barrages (which can glass planets even before the 30 years of advancements they got by the time the basals were eating them, and by that point in time there were weapons which were on a lower grade than turbolasers but were starting to reach power levels comparable to old turbolasers...).

I don't know if this thread is a mismatch or not but The Son does have a lot of concrete shit going for him if one was inclined to look into it.
