Darkseid is NOT Pre-Crisis here. Zod's abilities are enhanced due to the presence of a red sun.

Can Zod withstand the Omega Effect like Superman before him?

Can he defeat Darkseid at all?

well here what i think.

zod isn't superman,meaning he dosen't hold back and having a power boost in this

zod could pull off a win.

Darkseid wins. Superman knows to avoid/deflect the Omega Beams. Zod would probably try to tank them.

I'm assuming your not aware that a red sun actually takes away Kryptonians powers?? As to the battle, no, he can't, imo.

They do. Under a red sun, Kryptonians are no stronger than humans.

Zod would take it in a straight-up fight. However, I would leave it to Darkseid to be able to bring about Zod's demise if he had time to plan by playing on Zod's arrogance.

Its not impossible for Superman to beat Darkseid, pre or post crisis that is, unless we are using the special Great Darkness Saga version.

Action Comics 814

Thats 2 outright defeats and one instant of BFR using his own boomtube as well as mocking him, look at instance where Superman clearly gets the upper hand on Darkseid

1. Countdown to Final Crisis 03 where Superman pretty clearly has the upper hand on Darkseid before Darkseid exploits a plot device, he uses the soul harness trapped inside Jimmy Olsen to turn him into Kryptonite.

2. Action Comics 586 where Superman clearly has the upper hand before Darkseid manages to open a boom tube to BFR Superman.

3. I dont have this issue with me, will have to look for it, there is a short fight between Young Clark Kent and Darkseid during the story arc Quite Darkness, where Superman nearly kills Darkseid.

So based on this its pretty clearly, Superman can defeat Darkseid, i would like to hear you side of things to suggest Superman simply cant.
