Hulk is a late-gamer. he starts weak and gets stronger as time goes on. wwh has a similar condition, minus the fact that he starts strong. so as time goes by, no matter how many times you hit him, he will only continue to get stronger. remember, wwh's rage is not only limited to his strength, it also increases his stamina, agility and his healing factor infinitely with the only requirement being a pissed off loser so wwh will win.
