Dante`s heavenly weapons will hurt Spawn but Spawn is very versatile and durable, Dante`s first critical mistake will also be his last, once Spawn gets a hold of him it would be game over.

Dante does have impressive feats of his own.

Defeats the Grim Reaper and kills him with his own scythe.

Defeats the devil of his universe and his weapons are effective.

But Spawn is a walking powerhouse.
