Oh fo real dawg.
Cap 6/10
Reasoning? Not challenging you, just curious.
@wolverine08: Meh, I'd probably lean towards it could go either way this point, but with how Daken's been written over the last few years, it's a toss up or I'd give it to Cap. Cap's become looser when it comes to dealing with the Wolverine family. A couple years ago when Daken was on his high, I'd say he could take a solid majority in a solid fight. He utilized techniques like his disappearing move quite a few times. He wrecked Deadpool, beaten Logan, given him a solid fight on a couple of occasions (in the one where he was killed, Wolverine admitted Daken's capabilities like when he took half his face off, given that was the more recent one, though). Logan eventually got the upper hand and killed him. But he's also maintained at certain points. His arrogance allowed Frank Castle to rough him up. Hawkeye even got some hits on him. He was stalemating X-23. Gambit caught his fist and blew his arm off. He had the issues with the heat drug. What was supposed to be a character that prided himself on not being savage and more calculating than his dad, he's kind of slipped.
Skill is debatable IMO. Speed also debatable, but Daken has the ace in his "port"slash. Daken has the natural damage soak in his healing factor and damage output to maim Steve. Steve has the striking capabilities and defensive abilities with that shield as long as he keeps it close to even it out. I'll say the shield is overrated when you think about it. Wolverine, Daredevil, and Gambit have gotten around it or caught it. Hell, even the Hulk has caught it. I can see Daken getting around it via just his agility and skill. But on the otherhand, I can see Daken's arrogance getting the best of him. Daken gets some slashes and Cap's bleeding out. Daken starts mouthing off about how his dad never did this and blah blah blah, and then Cap pulls a combo breaker like he did on the super soldier thugs when he got his serum back or like one he did to Nuke and eventually puts him down. Daken has every tool needed, but sometimes he slips. It just kind of sucks that it has been happening more frequently over the years. He shouldn't be getting smacked around by Gambit, lit up by Punisher, or stalemating Kinney. Those can be regarded as low showings, and while I do agree with there being context surrounding some of them, it still does kind of show along with a bunch of other showings that Daken can be cocky. Steve is just the wrong opponent to do that too.
@god_spawn: Heh, good points.
Daken shanks him at the speed of light.
Won't work. Cap is massively FTL:
Example #1: Thanos
Here, he avoids Thanos, then reacts to his punch
But Thanos can easily dodge the Silver Surfer's charge:
Who definitely has FTL speed:
Example #2: Thor
Cap calls Thor slow, in comparison to himself:
Yet Thor can avoid his own hammer:
Yet Thor's hammer can travel back from the edge of the galaxy in under 60 seconds. Massively FTL, right?
Example #3: Lazers
Quite self explanatory:
Lazers = light speed
Cap >>>>> Lazers
Example #4: Bullets and Wally West
Captain America sees bullets in slow motion.
You know who can't even dodge a single bullet? Wally West.
Therefore, Cap can see Wally West in slow motion.
Example #5: Wally West = Daken:
Wally West fails to avoid a bullet fired at him from behind:
Yet Daken does the same thing:
So therefore, Wally West and Daken are equals in terms of speed.
Captain America >>>>>>>>>>> Daken.
Daken will be moving in slow motion to Cap.
LMAO
The king of light-speed has been dethroned.
Yo, @wolverine08, what do you think of my argument?
Yo, @wolverine08, what do you think of my argument?
You've perfectly put into words what every Captain America fan like myself has always felt. The Captain salutes you.
@comicstooge: Please. Cap cannot even dodge Wonder Man's idiot brother without getting slaughtered like a pig come of age.
What makes you think he has a chance against Son of the Best There Was?

Daken will be too distracted. He'll be trying to kiss Steve:
And Steve, being a macho man from the 40's, won't take kindly to such an action.
Steve will respond with his Onslaught-pwning blows:
Meanwhile, Daken will being trying to give Cap blows of a different type.
@comicstooge: Please. If Daken kisses Steve, the fight is over then and there.
So thank you for arguing for Steve's defeat.

Please, Cap's simply asserting his dominance using his private parts.
Plenty of soldiers do it, haven't you played Halo before?
Anyway, here's definitive proof Cap beats Daken...
Daken was killed by a small puddle:
Yet Cap survived in an entire OCEAN for decades:
Cap is vastly superior to Daken, still.
@comicstooge: lol

What mate? How can you say such a thing,Wolverine may be a coward and be defeated left and right since he lost his healing factor, but he still is the best there is.
Daken. SLAUGHTERHOUSE.

Daken.
Given some of Daken's recent performances before his death at the hands of his pappy which were teetering towards the realm of jobbing, Steve probably would have won. Daken would win otherwise.
Honestly, I'm going to give a legitimate win to Cap. Taking Daken's high end showings into account along with his low end, it's clear he has the potential to operate at a level much higher than he actually does. Personality and CIS have a big effect on this guy; even his jobbing instances withstanding, it's a part of Daken's character to fight not-so-seriously. Punisher was handling him just fine, he merely lacked a method to keep Daken down. Luckily for Cap, a vibranium shield should do the trick.
I guess there really was no answer for my superb argument.
Cap is mighty ocean of power, while Daken is but a tiny puddle of weaksauce!
I still think Daken has every tool needed to beat Steve. But Daken’s character degradation over the years has set in and I don’t find him the threat he once was. With that said, even as he has fizzled out a bit, he’s still fast, agile, and skilled enough to contend with Steve. Also factoring in the claws will deal more potent damage to Steve than vice versa due to Daken’s healing factor.
Steve’s only real advantage is probably strength and his shield. However, Steve has already been beaten by Logan and has lost his shield to Logan once and disarmed another time. Steve was held off by X-23 in a close range fight after stripping him of his shield and I’d say Daken is at least on par with Laura, though I believe he should be a little better. With that said and since both Kinney and Logan have disarmed Steve, I believe Daken is more than capable of doing it too. And you can factor in pheromones as well a little bit because he has used them a bit more over the last couple years.
I’d say Daken more than likely. But I still believe if Daken does a act stupid, Steve can take advantage.
