The person who edited Cythonna's wiki page said Superman described her as "...a strength [Superman] had never encountered before." The editor continued to speculate that that particular statement would put her in or above the likes of Doomsday, Mongul, and Darkseid. As far as I can recall, neither of those three continually toyed with Superman as if he were nothing. So, judging on how both Darkseid and Cythonna handled Superman, perhaps Cythonna would have a good shot at besting Darkseid.
It is claimed by Superman according to various wikis on her that Lois said to Superman that her casual backhand was harder then anything he had felt before by Doomsday, Mongul, or Darkseid. So the Omega Beams might be a problem but she is the Goddess of Death.. her people being dead might actually empower her so the beams might do nothing.. but its suggested she is the physically strongest being under the Big Three (Presences, LM and MD) so if she got her hands on Darkseid I see this ending badly as even Rao and his entire flock of children could not kill her when their religion was thriving.
Old thread but what the hay.Cythonna should be stronger in a physical battle she would dominate Darksied only question is power vs power that bit is a little harder to say
I say Darkseid has the edge he has much more feats and a wider range of powers and abilities to work with. Plus the omega beams might be to much for Cythonna if Darkseid uses them to there full potential. But it would be interesting if Darkseid and Cythonna fought in a physical battle seeing that both of theses characters are well known for there physical prowess beyond that of even Superman's level.
Strength: Equals, both have infinite strength. Though it depends on the avatar for Darkseid.
Durability: Cythonna is extremely durable, but the Sun helped defeat her. Darkseid’s avatar can reached multi universal levels.
Other Powers: Darkseid is near-omnipotent, Cythonna only has a few powers. As well, the Omega Beams can easily kill Cythonna. If he wanted to he could be his true self which is impossible to beat. That is why Darkseid never flees a fight, even against the Spectre because he can’t die and is much more powerful.
Cythonna probably outsats Standard Post-Crisis Darkseid (not getting into True Form or Great Darkness Saga or any of that) but Darkseid still beats her because of his other powers.
