Depends really, where and how they are positioned at the start of the fight. Cyclops basically just needs to know roughly where Wolverine is, if he does, then he wins. Wolverine on the other hand, will be trying to turn the encounter into a game of hide and seek, in which case given the location, would turn into an eventual win for Wolverine.

In a real fight to the death, Wolverine would win... because he knows he can sustain damage does not mean he'll actually run into the blast. He also has more experience than cyclopps.

No. Because they have never truly fought against one another in the 616 universe. That does not matter though. Cyclops is in character and so is Wolverine. Cyclops is not going to go around leveling buildings and Wolverine has an entire city to play around in using stealth. Cyclops would never see his fatal attack coming.

im not saying he will take off his visor, even with it on cyclops has great aim and 4 hour prep, i just dont see him winning.....

Oh woops lol. What about the 4hrs prep? Cy is very tactical and knows wolverine, surly he would expect some kind of sneack attack/?

Both of you are right. Cyclops is a master tactician and has perfect aim. But what could he really do with 4 hours prep when he has no special gear? The best he can do is try and find a favorable place to actually have the battle. Wolverine is also just as brilliant with stratagem though and has less compunctions about crossing a few lines to get a win. Wolverine knows Cyclops just as much as Cyclops knows him. Wolverine also has an advantage in that he knows how to get anywhere he needs without being detected. Cyclops has nothing to overcome Wolverine's stealth.

Since they have an entire city to battle in, it does provide lots of variables. One thing is sure though, Wolverine has a detailed knowledge of the city. He has had decades of fighting experience in New York that spans well beyond his time with the X-Men while Cyclops has mostly had his engagements in key sections of the city and otherwise spent his free time at the school.

Very true. But if Cyclops decided to take it to some place he knew, say Central Park, that still gives Wolverine the advantage with plenty of foliage and trees to scamper around in and leaves Cyclops exposed and vulnerable.

I am just saying that Cyclops would want to take it somewhere he knows since he knows Wolverine knows everything about the city. That was just one example of a place I know he knows. The point is that he would try to even the odds on terrain knowledge because that is his only chance. It will not do him much good though because Wolverine simply knows more about the battlefield.

Wolverine is not stupid though. If Cyclops parks his butt in the center of a football field, Wolverine will just wait him out. Cyclops will need sleep before Wolverine would even get tired.

Not really. He is impatient with discussions and human interactions. He is never impatient with prey. It takes patience to do the kind of hunting he does. He has even gotten upset at others for being impatient in battle recently. When it comes to fighting, Wolverine is anything but impatient.

And how pray tell will he accomplish this? Not only that, but Cyclops will have to deal with the stadium security having a problem with him sitting in the middle of the field. Something Wolverine will obviously avoid.
