That is if Reed stood there and let himself get pummeled by the blasts., but he has enough control over his body to dodge the blasts or even if he does get hit he can move the area being fired at.
Mr. F. Cyke would use up all his energy trying to make a significant amount of damage,and then Mr.F would would giant-fist-smash him into little Cyclops-pieces
if cyclops hit RR with an optic blast it would look like a balloon with human extremeties being inflated. No prep time just means that they have the same amount of time from when the fight starts to study and neutralize their opponent. while Cyke may be a master strategist, Richards' intelligence is just ridiculous with an imagination and creativity that can really be described as deus ex machina. but i'll say Cyke blasts him full force, the balloon expansion effect happens and on the snap back to normal form smacks Cyke into a wall and he dies on impact. Or of course Mr. fanastic unleashes a s.p.i.n. tech nano fleet into the air that he carries on him at all times, because you just can't be too careful raising a family in New York.
@Edamame: The same way he avoids any attack. Change his shape. Mr.Fantastic seems to be a master dodger, I'd say he might be better at dodging than Spiderman.

Mr. Fantastic Wins hands down Mr. fantastic could fuck cyclops over in a lot of ways he can stretch and dodge cyclops blast and wrap around him squeeze the life out of him he could give him a big fist to the gut you get the point and plus Reed Richards is one of the smartest people in the world he got his ways so yea nuff said Mr Fantastic would make cyclops bites the dust :D
really this fight depend on two thing...one if Mr.Fantastic can get close..the fight goes to him.....but if Cyclops can stay away he win....so the fight can go both ways dude!!!!

Actually I thought the official tag line these days was that Cyclops doesn't produce the energy but rather his eyes contain dimensional apertures that his body keeps open by absorbing solar radiation. So in effect his eyes are a dimensional gateway into a dimension that is simply filled with concussive force/ energy. If I remember correctly that was said to actually make him more powerful to the point that he wouldn't run out of energy because he has a near limitless amount. And likewise with the older incarnations it could be explained as his body no longer having the solar energy it needed to keep the apertures open.
@Lupine: Yeah,that's the explanation as of now. But it said he was affected by mental fatigue,probably from focusing his blasts. He is probably physically able to keep them open for a large amount of time. But his mind weakens. I think

Won't ever happen because it never has happened. Unless I have missed something. Closest thing would be him sweating. But that can also be given to physical exertion too, not just using his blasts at a higher level.

I remember reading that too, but it wanted to keep it simple because I couldn't recall the exact passage.
