Cyclops vs. Jason Todd (H2H)

Location: Ontop of the Daily Bugle

Jason beats him pretty easily. 8/10 at the least.

I'm gonna say Cyclops, but I'm not really that sure about either of their H2H ability. I know Todd messed up Drake in Battle for the Cowl, though he was using a batarang for most of it.

Todd, stalemating with Dick Grayson, and fighting on par with Batman to me is more impressive than anything Cyclops have done

Cykes best feat is generally the fighting those thugs with his eyes closed and he has tossed around a few of the X-men before. Cykes doesn't have any credible opponent h2h wins. Sure he has thrown down with Wolverine, but Wolverine hasn't exactly been written up to his status quot in terms of skill on those instances and even now a days he rarely uses his skill aside from a spar with Iron Fist in recent Avengers. Jason kicked the crap out of Tim before BFTC, and was generally beating Tim til he found the crowbar and wailed on him before stabbing him with the batarang. Jason has also fought on close even grounds with Nightwing on most of their occasions and Jason was giving Bruce a challenge before revealing himself to Bruce, so Batman didn't know it was him at first. Jason doesn't have many credible wins either, but he has given h2h fights to more and better people than Cyclops has.

I don't think it's that close, Cykes would put up a fight but would get overwhelmed eventually with Todd for a solid majority. Todd uses his knife and h2h skills when fighting most opponents close range. Considering he fights Dick who is a better fighter than Scott by a fair margin IMO in h2h on very close footing, he is above Scott himself. Fair enough though since I don't have my scans on this comp so I can't really present anything visual.

That's kinda what I'm talking about. There are no weapons in this and he always fights with them. I haven't seen him go H2H against anyone. I'm sure he has an edge, but I think this is pretty close.

@hydrabob: It's been awhile since I read BFTC, but if I remember correctly he was going blow for blow with Dick pretty evenly with out his knife til Grayson popped him too hard and surprised both of them.

@god_spawn: He might have for a bit, but I remember his knife being a bigger part of his fighting.

Dick has beaten Jason several times, and he was only fighting on par with Bruce because he was holding back. Once Bruce let loose he beat the crap out of Jason.

Fighting Bruce regardless of a knife he still used his MA ability and was hurting him, fighting Dick almost evenly in multiple encounters, fighting Tim twice and in the second encounter beating him in h2h til he found a crowbar and going to town on him with it, then comes the batarang which he did not use for the most part like you thought. That same day he got beat down with a crowbar he went to fight Dick on even footing til Dick hit him too hard which surprised him and Grayson himself. Cykes doesn't have any credible fights wins, but Jason doesn't have many either. It's that Jason has given more fights to more credible people. Jason has the feats in h2h whereas Cykes doesn't.

@hydrabob: He wins cause he fights and gives challenges to better people in h2h fights than Cyclops has. Jason may have lost to those people, but there is nothing to suggest Cyclops would be close in a h2h fight against guys like Dick. Crossbones doesn't have many wins over competent fighters that I can recall, but the simple fact he has given to Daredevil and Captain America hell shows his status as a fighter.

@god_spawn: I guess. I'm pretty sure that when Jason losses his weapon he normally goes down soon after.

@hydrabob: I've given his h2h feats. So I admit he loses to Dick, but fights on near even ground in h2h with him so that makes Cyclops a better fighter when nothing suggests it?

I'm not sold that Jason can beat cyclops ... but I have no evidence to prove it since cyclops doesn't need to go H2H often ... /sigh

Cyclops doesn't rely on h2h so he doesn't have as many feats. Regardless, I tend to give the edge in h2h fights to the characters who concentrate on it solely, while keeping up with superhuman and/or peak human adversaries. Jason should be able to take Cyclops out for a majority, even though he'd be impressed that Cyclops put up something of a fight.

@hydrabob: no no no cyclops would not have a chance. i'm not even talkin about Jason with weapons. Jason has far more impressive agility and h2h feats

JT. Even though people are riding off Cyclops. He was able to take on the X-Men. PIS or not.

Jason wins 7 maybe even 8 out of 10.

The wins Scott gets will be because he out strategizes Jason and pulls of a win using the environment and strategy no hand to hand.

Slim has black belts in Aikido and Judo. He's also trained countless students in HTH combat. He's a very capable martial artist. And much like Storm, if you killed Scott's blasting, I do believe he would ramp up his fisticuffs game.

That said, Scott's own unique fighting style is split between application of HTH techniques and use of his blasting prowess. His body reactions are fine tuned to maximize both. If you kill one suddenly, the other will take time to adjust.

I would say that Todd takes the majority here, but there would nothing easy about it. Maybe 7/10 or so.

He knows his team incredibly well and had access to his powers. Cyclops actually has zero h2h feats against anyone credible outside of who he knows. And even then he had access to his powers against credible opponents like Wolverine for example.

Pfft, give Slim his powers, then lets see who wins.
