Superman. As much as I like Shazam, it would come down to Superman's better discipline in H2H, and combat experience.

Superman is easily stronger, hits harder, moves faster in travel, combat and reaction speed, is more versatile, more skilled and more tactical than Captain Marvel.

I really trust your judgement when it comes to battles so I want to know were do you base all these? Usually most say that Marvel is on par with Supes because of their meetings that usually end in stalemates. Agree with you but only because of Superman's way better and bigger amount of feats so I really would like a more throrough explanation by a battle forum viner like yourself :)

Superman has better feats in battle against him and more victories over him as well.Shazam has it in his powers to take down Superman but is always written as a back seat driver.I would love to see Shazam gets some spotlight and show more of his powers.Stop the child crap and make him a real hero.

Couldn't Shazam grab him, point him to the sky and keep yelling shazam til superman is out?

@squalleon i've only seen them fight in JLU. But it looked like he held back cause he saw him as his hero. I feel like if he had to win by any means, he would go all out

Same with Supes and as opposed to Billy, Superman certaintly didn't go all out, if the Darkseid battle has taught as anything. And the grab trick was used in Kingdom Come too(often considered the best Supes vs Marvel fight), which is another instance that didn't work for Billy.

@squalleon If Billy used the knowledge of solomon i think, He could make a better attack plan.

The wisdom of solomon isn't an on and off thing. Billy uses it all the time as long as he is Cap Marvel. And up to this point Billy really hasn't display any tactical ability in any incarnation. And we can't go by speculations, only feats. Also Superman is more than intelligent and a good tactical thinker. Especially in recent times. He is from a race of beings with higher average intellect (by a lot) than humans and he is also the only one who has outsmarted 5 dimensional beings multiple times, solved the mystery of the multitude and lead the armies of Asgard with Wonder Woman for a 1000 years. Anyway by sheer amount of better feats in any situation, Superman should take this.

@savageslayer: I don't know if shazam is much of a planner. And considering there's no prep time, there is nothing he can do.

Supes obviously has more exp than him.

Sorry dude but thjs screams "I've never read anything with shazam" Billy displays tactical knowledge and use due to solomon wisdom in about 70 to 80% of his appearances

As track record goes their win loss ratio is a split right down the middle.

Superman. Regardless of weather or not they're physically equal, Clark is still slightly faster, more versatile, skilled, experienced and tactiacally skilled.

In most of those fights, Superman only chooses to brawl like a boxer rather than use his speed, his versatility and tactical thinking feats that he's used in a plethora of other encounters, including against powerful foes. And if you compare their feats side by side, Superman has the edge in all the areas I listed too.

He does. He has over 75 years worth of feats where he has practically done everything. This is spite.

Superman's only winning by 1 vote in his FIRST match... Trust me, Superman will not win this competition.

Shazam in theory should win, but Supes has the better feats and track record

1. Post-Crisis era feats only I'm assuming, Silver-Age Superman could win (even that's sketchy), but PC Supes has been around as long as everyone else here.

2. Superman might be the oldest, but only by a few years; Captain Marvel, Alan Scott and Doctor Fate are all golden age heroes, maybe 2-5 years younger.

In terms of how he stacks up against other people specifically, that'll be discussed as those fights come up, but two magic users (one a teambreaker) and Wally West remain in his bracket.

I love Captain marvel, but I have to give this one to Supes.
