CV Debaters Tournament! (Rules!)

Scearnio: A war has errupted in the battles thread, and only one comic vine user will be left standing.  Who it will be, is entirely up to you. 
 
Rules:

-You may nominate two users.  You are NOT allowed to nominate yourself. 
- Once the rounds are set up, you may vote for who you believe the winner would be (in a debate) and if you choose to do so, elaborate on why.  If you say why, keep it polite.  
-There is NO debating against each other in this thread.  You place your votes, and wait for the next rounds.  If you have an issue with someones vote, PLEASE discuss it in a PM with them.  I want to keep this as friendly as possible and avoid having it locked.  So again, NO commenting on how others vote in this thread. 
-Once 16 users are nominated, I will create the tournament in random order. I will literally write down the names, shuffle them, and randomly select them.  Yes, I am that lame.

Does anyone know why the "Rate the Debaters" thread was looked?

Question on the debating part once the voting on who wins against who.
Do we just make up what they are debating on, or will each pair be given a specific target?
I ask because I know that some people have stronger backings for certain characters or universes. Example someone might know a lot about Marvel but their DC knowledge is a little lacking. Or they might know everything there is to know about certain types of characters but hardly anything on certain others etc.

16 are assembled. But K4tz isn't here to create the tournament. I'll ask him if the number of the contestants can be expanded, anyway. "
