Have only seen bits and pieces of both teams but I'm going with Avengers. Starboard is MVP. I don't think anyone here can faze him

I thought the Illuminati just murdered the JL or their equivalents and had moved on to the Legion.

At any rate I'd say JL. No one on the Avengers is as smart as Batman.

Starbrand is the x-factor.

Nobody else of the Avengers side has any argument against Speedforce BFR except MAYBE Thor. But seeing as classic feats are out, I doubt Thor has such feats... even if he does they'd be useless against a dogpile...

For now I say JL stomps because Starbrand is missing key feats to show he could take their onslaught.

Starbrand probably solos considering nobodies actually been able to put him down yet. He managed to take on the entire current Avengers lineup by himself and he'd only had the Star Brand in his possession for a couple hours to a day at best

Thor turning the ground to Ice takes out Flash. The rest are easy for the Avengers. Thor, Hyperion and Hulk are all planet busters and can tank any blow from the JL, as can Starbrand. Superman is close to planet busting level but not a genuine planet buster.

He's basically a mid tier version of Superman. He absorbs solar energy (and other radiation) and turns it into his abilities. He's been amped by environment before.(Asgard, when he got a significant amp to his abilities.) Theoretically, Starbrand or Thor could amp him to a level where he wouldn't crumple like paper amongst these others... but no.

I'm curious what the fuss about Starbrand is. Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I gather, he's not that different than a Lantern. Is he really that much of a threat?

I'd say the big guns are Hulk, Thor, and Hyperion, but I think Shazam, Superman, and Wonder Woman can keep up.

Really, I think Flash is the clencher here. I have a hard time imagining any one of the Avengers that wouldn't already have their hands full with another JL Member tagging Barry.

Sunspot present in Superman's presence is one of the worst thing Avengers have going for them.

@doom_phd: Eh, Bobby can control and modulate what types of energy he puts out. I'm not sure if he could do red sun blasts, but he can definitely make it so he isn't empowering Supes.

@scouterv Check out the Avengers pic in the OP. That's Starbrand fighting Hulk, Thor, and Hyperion all at once. Iron Man and Captains America, Marvel, and Unverse were there as well. Starbrand was holding back and still beating all of them. He's more on the Guardians' level than a Lantern's.

How exactly ? He generates the pure solar energy, he is a mini sun in Supes favor. Unless he depowered himself through out the fight he isn't doing his team any favors.

I don't know, star brand is a wild card for me. Hyperion and him together could really wreck sht up.

I think Starbrand could solo this. The Gardeners/ Engineers considered Starbrand planetary threat against them in Infinity

Starband solos, it took a triple team attack by Hyperion,Thor and Hulk to finally knock him on his ass and make him and say uncle but he was STILL holding back the whole time.

@frozenedge: You and others are overplaying Starbrand. In Avengers World 8 Morgan Le Fey tricks him into coming to her by putting voices in his head then puts him in a trap which he couldn't get out of. Shazam, Wonder Woman and Aquaman are magic users. The encounter with Morgan Le Fey suggests he is vulnerable to magic.

Avengers win, Hyperion and Thor being the MVPs. Hulk would be hard to put down, but so is flash so it would be a good fight.
