Typical powers granted by the Uni Power (as per the OHOTMU) are,
"The Uni-Power can be manipulated by each Captain Universe in a variety of ways, dependent upon each recipient's imagination and strength. The Uni-Power amplifies strength about fifty times Thus if a person can normally lift (press) 150 pounds, he or she would now be able to lift approximately 7,500 pounds. Each Captain Universe is also granted the ability to fly by harnessing the Uni-Power's energy to generate antigravitions. The Uni-Power also grants the ability to manipulate structure of objects, changing one shape into another, or even transmuting the elements of an object from one substance to another. This power of molecular manipulation extends to both organic and inorganic matter. Thus the Uni-Power can be used to heal wounds by rearranging the molecules of flesh, tissues or organs, or it can be used to alter the physical characteristics of a person (enlarging the hands of changing their features). The Uni-Power can also be wielded like an energy-beam, generating a luminous burst of energy with a concussive force determined to an extent by the user's ability. The Uni-Power also grants each Captain Universe Uni-Vision which enable the user to see the molecular structure of an object, to see through walls, or to see long distances away. The Uni-Vision is emitted by Captain Universe's eyes and produces a visible beam of energy. This energy has certain hypnotic-side-effects: a skillful wielder of the Uni-Vision can use it to hypnotize people into telling the truth."
Gladiator empowered by the Uni Pwer is a very frightening concept.
The Uni power augments strength by 50 times and also enhances reaction speed and durability significantly.
Even with these increases, I still think that SMP is the stronger and more durable of the 2, but it would enable Gladiator to hang in the battle longer.
Don't forget that SMP has pushed planets out of orbit and this shows strength potentially hundreds of times greater than current Superman (based on their respective big feats).
However, the real power increase for Gladiator lies in the granted ability to manipulate matter, including organics. He could therefore use this power to attack SMP with.
Now although it sounds like this could spell doom for SMP, it is worthwhile noting the following points,
1. Superman (current) has resisted some matter manipulation attacks thanks to the forceield he projects and the binding forces between the cells of his body (according to some texts). SBP is far more durable and thus much harder to hurt in a like manner.
2. SMP has faught against both Monarch and the Guardians, both of who can manipulate matter on a large scale (Monarch thanks to energy control, the Guardians thanks to their TK). Neither of these beings attacked him in this manner, perhaps supporting the concept that he cannot be affected by this means of attack.
3. He resisted the energies of the Anti-monitor with out injury even when they started to consume a Guardian, which shows the sheer resistance of SMP's body to 'change'.
4. PC Kryptonians have resisted some examples of matter manipulation or in some cases, the temporary change was healed back (reversed) by their invulnerability snapping their body back to the form it should be.
My own opinion (and that is all it is) is that SMP would be resistant to the matter change abilities. It might hurt him but not stop him.
Ultimately even with the serious upgrade to Gladiator, I would still be tempted to vote SMP for the win but this is a much more difficult judgement to make than the usual battles involving SMP.
