Team ftw J'onn more or less defeated the team when he was under the impression that his family could be revived . He also defeated Etrigan
Marvel was beaten decisively by Superman, who was hardly going all out. He didn't in even inflict any significant damage on him. DCAU Marvel is probably around EoS Supergirl's level, maybe a bit stronger. I say GL and MM take it they play it smart
@starlord4509: @phantom16: lol, no
A non-jobbing J'onn solos. Physically he's near Supes level, but he's also got phasing, which Marvel doesn't have a way to defend against
He has no answer for intangibility or Jon phasing through his head or chest to KO him.
Physically id say he's above the two.
UMMM. No. He easily dealt with Grundy(someone who would push supes to his limit even in JL unlimited). Also he went blow for blow with the destroyer(which basically could not be harmed by normal physical means). Also you will see in the highlight a simple close liner sent Lobo(another superman level type) flying back.
DCAU Captain Marvel's lone claim to fame is getting his butt whooped by a Superman who was preoccupied with trying to get to the kryptonite bomb. Marvel clearly looks worn out through the entire fight why Superman looks refreshed like he could have fought 5 more rounds. Manhunter has incredible recuperation powers. The Destroyer tore him in half and he got right back up again.
So even in a pure fistacuffs fight, he would own own Marvel. Manhunter has a lot more proven punching power and is the much more seasoned hero.

No. Just…No
@phantom16: near doesn't mean equal. See Lukehero's post. Plus, phasing

Whoever said they were equal. MM has nothing that compares to that feat. The superman v Cpt Marvel surpasses anything John ever showed.
@phantom16: J'onn has repeatedly smacked around heavy hitters like Grundy, Doomsday, the Annihilator, etc, showing he can fight in that tier. Cap still doesn't have an answer for phasing-can't hurt J'onn if he can't touch him
@justthatkid: Superman & Grundy went blow for blow in part 1 of the two part episode The Terror Beyond. Captain Marvel didn't even phase Superman until he started using magic lighting. Besides that his punches and hits didn't really show any damage. If you look at the footage he see Captain Marvel getting worn out. Superman had to use flight. This is the same Supes that one shot Aquaman.
I did make a mistake though that was in JL, not JL unlimited. Look at the part where Supes simply lifts his arm, he sends Marvel flying through the statue. When Marvel twirls him around he recovers right in flight and keeps coming. Look at 3:25 Cap Marvel's face is all dented up...he can't hang with Supes.

Did John ever do that in character. I dont think phasing guarantees he cannot get hit. I am sure he's been tagged multiple times. Can he even stay phased indefinitely?
