Comic vine vs a space marine

Scenario:

Games workshop has released a end times book for 40k ven worse then in warhammer fantasy. In rage, all of comic vine has risen as one to destroy GW.

GW finding out what we are planning sends their face in the hole, a real space marine after us.

Can we prevail or will GW get away with more heresy?

Round one:

We are against a ultramarine tactical with a bolter.

Round two:

We are against a deathwing terminator with a storm shield and close combat weapon.

Rules:

We get one year prep with any resources we could reasonably acquire with a year.

As weapons we gets modern assault rifles and grenades.

Battlefield:

Abandoned gym.

In character

Victory conditions:

We win if we ko the marine. We lose if we all die.

We all lose

I hope that any of us is the offspring of a president.

Any other opinions?

I blitz and one shot.

Really? Space marine bones are tough enough to easily withstand bullets. An astartes could run at you naked and your bullets wouldn't do anything more than annoy him. Combined with the strength to rip steel to shreds and supersonic (or near-supersonic) reflexes, he really doesn't need a weapon.

Naked unarmed Astartes solos.

@matthijs_noyce: we are also armed with grenades and explosives along with prep.

Grenades aren't going to do much, considering this astartes is armoured. To give you an idea of how over-the-top bullshit the 40K universe is, our explosives and grenades are massively less dangerous than a single Guardsman's las-rifle. And those do shit for dick to a Space Marine.

The most apt comparison would be Captain America in Iron Man armour.

We all die, none of us have the hardware to dent that kind of armor or have any kind of defense against the Marine's artillery.

I think we could get a few tanks in 1 year yet i doubt we beat 2 without a actual army.... we could last like 2-3 hours just cos of numbers and hit and run but i doubt where breaking the armour.

I could probably acuire some dangerous weapons in a year, which would give him a hard time with our numbers but I die.

I only know Warhammer 40K from my Wikipedia searches and from Comic Vine debates and it looked pretty awesome but I just had no idea how to start getting into this universe

Actually on second thought this thread is allowed in the battle forums. The rules state to use one fictional character.

Use Fictional Characters

Please use at least one fictional character in each battle. If we see something like "Mike Tyson vs. Bruce Lee" and neither are a fictionalized adaptations of these people, then this discussion will be moved to Off Topic or locked. But if you use a character that Bruce Lee portrayed, or a comic book version of Bruce Lee, then that counts as a fictional character.

@jashro44: I suppose. Though by bringing up CV users, it means feats can't be substantiated. We could at least argue the Space Marine vs an average bear or lion.

If I said I was a 6'4" blackbelt in 16 martial arts and I can kill a man by poking him in the temple, or that I'm a sniper with the SAS and can shoot him through the eye, nobody can really say otherwise. It just seems like banter as opposed to a structured feat based battles debate.

I see what your saying. All though I think the point is to figure out how we will defeat a space marine. IIRC not sure how anyone on comicvine will get through there armor honestly.

@jashro44: Dude, I'm just gonna use the prep time to get a collection going and use the money to purchase a large electromagnet. I may also buy pizzas for the survivors if we have any money left over.

If Batman has taught me anything, money and prep time to buy stuff is the best superpower ever.

Well, how many people are on comicvine? I would like to think that with everybody chipping in that we could get a few hundred million in a year's time. But, of course, that would depend on how many people are on comicvine and what kind of money they make in a year. If we could get that kind of money I would think we could buy a nuke or heck, if the governments believed us that this type of threat was coming to Earth...regardless there are many things that are reasonably able to be attained with a year with many people working towards the same goal. Would a nuke kill a space marine? I don't know, never played the games, but it was a thought.

Side anecdote. Recently I just couldn't find a fitting word to replace an F bomb I wanted to drop. I tossed the book against the wall. It held together because it had a tough spine.
