Comicvine Gym Leaders
So.
You want to be the very best?
First, you gotta beat the 8 Gym Leaders of Comicvine. Powerful debaters who have mastered their respective typing. Once you have defeated all 8 Gym Leaders and claimed their badges, you have the right to challenge for the title of Comicvine Debating Master.
General Structure of Challenging
- To challenge the gym, sign your name on the Gym Thread (linked below). Tag the Gym Leader and link your victories as proof you can challenge. Your name will then be added to a list that the Gym Leader works their way through.
- New challengers go to the bottom of the list.
- If you start a match with one Gym Leader, you cannot have a match ongoing with another gym leader.
- The Gym leader will always open the battle.
- The Gym leader has a set map that their opponents challenge them on.
- The Debating Master will be the first person to beat all 8 Gym Leaders.
- To challenge the Debating Master, you must beat all 8 gym leaders.
- If you lose to the Debating Master, you go to the bottom of his challenge list and defeat the Elite Four again (when they are chosen.)
- Past Debating Masters will be recorded in a tribute thread and are given the option of becoming Elite Four.
- The Debating Master has no set typing and chooses the typing for each match.
- The signups rule applies to the debating master as well.
- If a new debating master is crowned, they pick up where their predecessor left on the list.
Rules for the Battles
- Participants must have participated in 3 CaVs or tournaments and won at least 1 CaV or tournament round.
- They can also defeat the Gym Leaders Second (if they have one) to challenge a Gym Leader.
- The recommended minimum post count is 3000. Not a rule, just a guideline, as the Gym's will be tough. If you're confident in your abilities then have at it.
- Challenger has the right of selecting the limits (within the tier), and selects who they are using first.
- Gym Leader chooses the set up, whether a solo character or team.
- The Gym Leader is allowed to select a second to fill in for them in case of time constraints.
- If the Challenger wins the debate by votes, they earn the badge. However, if they lose the vote, the Gym Leader can still bestow the badge if he/she so wishes.
- The Challenger can only match one gym at a time.
- The Challenger has 60 hours (2 Days, 12 Hours) to respond to the gym leaders post, before forfeiting.
- The Gym Leader creates the battle in a separate thread.
- The Challenger can contest for taking over the gym if they defeat the Gym Leader 3 consecutive times, or if the Gym Leader has become inactive with permission from the voters and the commissioner (@spector_rand currently).
- Votes are counted by the commissioner, not the Gym Leader.
- The commissioner has the final say in any dispute.
- The Battle is limited to an opener, two rounds and a closer.
- Voting occurs in one of two ways, with the Challenger choosing either:
- The first to 10 votes.
- The most votes within five days.
- The Gym Leader will always open.
- The map is set as the Gym's terrain.
