Chthon vs Trigon
Trigon at peak level can't even compare to Chthon at peak level. If Chthon is weakened by people's memory loss of his name then Trigon might stand a bit of a chance.
Chthon has vast knowledge (the most knowledgable) in Black Magic.... but he never had any showings using it himself. The guy who made the M-16 (one of the most accurate weapons in the owlrd) still cant shoot for shit.
A mere fraction of Chthon's power had one Maximoff twin causing epic-scale reality bending on a whim. The other twin, less so, but it was than enough to have him curbstomping entire teams - including their own magic users - and casually rearranging entire landscapes/civilizations just for shits and giggles. Now how powerful was Raven when corrupted by her father's essence?
@decaf_wizard: Chthon for me.
I haven't seen anything from Trigon to put him above Dormammu, which isn't much above Set and that means still below Chthon.

Difference is that you are talking about Raven's personal power, not Trigons. Raven in of herself and untethered is a teambuster, so normally she doesn't need anything from her father and has no recorded example of asking for more and actually getting it.
going with the lord of the darkhold.
From looking at his comic vine page it says Chthonic has immense magical powers dealing with Chaos magic since he created it. Trigon can use any type of magic as well. Besides that point Trigon uses his omniscience and figures out the how to beat him and enslaves him.
Chthon has considerable more power, but Trigon can absorb evil energy, though I'm not sure if he's 100% IMMUNED to it (to the point he'd even survive omniversal evil attacks for instance) or if he can still take damage if it's too powerful but he'll gradually ADAPT as he absorbs it (kinda like Doomsday). Unless someone can confirm which is true, I'll go with the latter for now.
I'd already consider Dormammu (while in the Dark Dimension) more powerful than Trigon, but I think Trigon would survive long enough to absorb enough evil energy and eventually surpass him. Chthon however is on another level, so I'm more tempted to believe he'll destroy Trigon in time.
