Gaara.. too fast, to durable. Choji lost to a guy that's slower than Lee.. (who's obviously faster than Choji). The same guy Gaara one shotted.

EOS Choji would still lose most likely

It depends on the fight.

Gaara was pierced by chidori. Butterfly punch might be able to be enough to punch through his defense.

EOS Chouji would turn Chunin Exam Gaara into paste.

Retrieval Arc Chouji could do it as well if he took the pills.

Butterfly Chouji is more powerful than Rock Lee. He doesn't even need to use all the pills to destroy Gaara. Super Multi-Size jutsu is vastly more powerful than anything Gated Lee did.

how would choji be fast enough to break gaaras defense but i guess he could be strong enough but not fast enough . again 1 sand burial would do the job

@night4345: Chouji lacks speed.. he would need to use it or he's dead.

Gaara also fights from a distance, and will keep Chouji back. Chouji doesn't have the speed or agility to constantly avoid Gaara like Lee to counter keeping him away.. other than Human Bolder. The problem Chouji will have is not being able to out maneuver Gaara.

Chouji is plenty fast. He intercepted Zaku's Supersonic blast before it could hit Kin(Ino). He doesn't need to outmaneuver Gaara he just needs to eat the pill and flop onto Gaara and crush him.

No, he couldn't. Chouji can casually break out of Gaara's sand and flatten him with just the air of his swing. War Chouji briefly pushed back the Gedo Mazo statue and created a shockwave that sent ninja flying from far away.

EOS Chouji vs Shukaku Gaara would be a closer fight.

And if we're being honest here.. and talking about consistency.. the only time Chouji ever gets serious in Naruto was when anything about weight was mentioned.

Chouji doesn't dodge sonic attacks on a regular basis in Naruto, and he's not even close to as fast or agile as base Lee (who was struggling) to contend with Gaaras sand.

Whats stopping Chouji from having to constantly avoid Gaaras sand.. with no reaction speed feats that are consistent with his fighting style? What's stopping Gaara from hittin Chouji or keeping him from using he best techniques that he can't do on his own?

I'm not saying he would play around, but He's not that intense of a fighter unless his weight is mentioned.

Lee was struggling more on offensive, but he did struggle with defense but not as much because of his speed and agility in combat. Since it's safe to assume this fight is outside, Gaara will only need a few seconds to end Chouji with Sand Burial. He caught Lee, he can catch Chouji even easier.

Not fast enough, If he starts off in his chili pill mode he could probably expand quickly enough and crush him though.
