Intro
Thor is the blood-son of Odin, All-Father of the Asgardians, and Jord, who was also known as Gaea, the goddess who was one of the Elder Gods. Odin sought to father a son whose power would derive from both Asgard and Midgard (as the Earth realm is called by Asgardians), and hence he sought to mate with Jord.
Thor is The God Of Thunder, he commands the lightning, he can summon storms and tornadoes so big and powerful as no one has ever seen before.
"All the power of the storm, from all the world, flows through my veins, and can be summoned by mine hammer at any time, wherever it is. A lightning storm in Japan? Mine. A hurricane off the coast of Barbados? Mine again. A brace of tornadoes in Kansas? Aye...mine. All that might, all that destructive force, mine to command. Channeled and guided through the mystic might of this hammer, guided right at thee!"

Let´s get to the important factors in this fight.
Strength
Thor was created to be stronger than Hulk, of course characters do not always stick to what they were made for, but Thor still has some incredible strength feats that puts him easily on Hulk´s strength level.
I´ll start with regular strength feats and save the good ones for later in the debate.
Gallery
- Arm wrestles Hercules to a draw, causing the area to collapse and shifting the planet out of orbit.
- Knocks out Namor while holding back.
- Closes a chasm of a millions tons of earth.
- One shots Abomination.
These strength feats are enough to suggest he is perfectly capable of hurting Sentry, but what is even more impressive, is that this are not his best strength feats, but I´ll get to them later.
DURABILITY
Gallery
- Receives only minor scratches from Wolverine´s adamantium claws.
- Survives being crushed by the weight of 20 planets.
- Unaffected by the temperature of the sun
- Withstood an attack he created against Surtur that was 1000 times hotter than the sun.
- Unharmed by Ghost Rider´s hellfire.
- Survives an attack from Thanos that destroyed the planet they were fighting in.
Thor is durable as hell, he has been able to tank hits capable of busting planets, just take a look at this feats and it shall be proof enough that Sentry´s striking power is not enough to put him down.
STRIKING POWER
Gallery
- Hurts Galactus and made him fell off his feet
- Knocked out Phoenix Force
- One shots Red Hulk
- One shots Hulk (who is more durable than Sentry)
- One shots MODOK who just stated that was capable of tanking a nuclear bomb.
This should be proof enough that Thor is more than capable of hurting Sentry who has no durability feats that suggest he could tank this kind of punishment, he even got one shotted by female Ultron, and Ultron has been stated to hit as hard as Thor´s hammer.
Speed
Gallery
- The original Black Knight shoots bolas from his lance that are literally surrounding Thor, but with his speed, Thor knocks the lance away and evades being captured. Black Knight exclaims, "I've never seen such speed... such power!!"
- Hela only has to touch Thor in order to ensnare his soul, but is unable to do so because of his speed, she says "His speed, his anger, are beyond comprehension!"
- Catches super-fast godling Zefra. (I do not have scans for that one)
- Lays a haymaker onto an Enchanter and spins around in time to snatch Mjolnir in mid-air all within the span of a few micro-seconds.
While Thor is not as fast as Sentry, he isn´t as slow as people make him seem to be either, he has plenty of good speed and reaction feats to suggest he is not slow at all.
Just something worth bringing up : Hulk in the WWH arc was able to hit Sentry numerous times, and Hulk in that time (before Mark Waid tried to make him a speedster :P) was not well known because of his speed, so if he was able to hit Sentry and evade some of his punches, Thor can do that as well.

The Sentry is a trascendent-level being with high physicals and a lot of versatility :
- Super-strenght
- Super-speed
- Invulnerability ( His mental state is 100 % stable here)
- Healing factor
- Super-senses
- Flight
- Energy projection and absorption
- Superhuman stamina, agility and reflexes
- Telepathy
- Molecule Manipulation (I will show that later)
Striking power
Let's compare the striking power here : to KO wolverine WWH needs 7 hits, Thor needs to Bullrush him with Mjolnir and The Sentry just need one hit.
Smashing the ground = Opening a large breach.
Against the Collective who just stomped Binary = their fight bust a planet near.
The Collective is a mutant who received the energies of 50 mutants.
The Cosmic Axe of Terrax wield an energy that makes him a planet buster :
He can shoot powerful energy beam and slice planets in two.
Here we see The Sentry effortlessly countering his energy attack and physical attack with the same hand.
He stomps Terrax without even trying.
Contrary to what people think Terrax bust planets with his Cosmic Axe only.
Durability and healing factor
As shown above the durability of The Sentry is at least planetary in his fight with the Collective.
- Burned by The Sun because he wants to die in it but heals faster than he is burned.
- Immune to an acid which can melt through steel
- Unharmed by Skrull Bolt whisper and unaffected by the knockback contrary to WWH who's ejected and bleed a bit after.
- Take little damage from Blue Marvel's sucker punch even this one is at least a moon buster.
SPEED
Sentry is one the fastest Marvel Hero and maybe the fastest Fabio man alive™.
- Save multiples people.
- Buid quickly a new structure
- Disable multiple warheads ( 11) in a blink of an eye.
Enhanced senses
- Osborn is in Manhattan and yell the name of The Sentry "Reynolds !" : Bob hear him in Philippines and come back to The Avengers Tower in seconds.
Energy projection
- Bob can choose to expel energy from any point of his body and even release omni-directionnal blasts. That's a great tactical advantage.
Telepathy
- Can erase the memory of everybody again.
- Minstomp the super-adaptoid who tried to steal his powers.
First conclusion
The Sentry has the physicals to handle Thor and put him down.
He can release some energy attacks when Thor can't absorb them with Mjolnir.
His better speed and striking power will assure him to deal him more damages each second.
Thor is vulnerable to the Telepathy and that is a big factor for The Sentry to win that fight.

<<<<<<<<<< Sentry was very weakened and vastly depowered and Hulk was in one of his strongest incarnation in this arc. He let the Hulk Hit him while staring at him. You can't really take a low showing in a fight where both fighters are at their best.
