powerful Classic Dr. Strange is looking for the Ultimate replacement. He picks from Time of the other universes greatest potentials. He drops both Spawn and Arion off in Tampa Bay Florida. The city is abandoned and both combatants are given no info on the other. What they do know is the other will be coveting the chance to be debated on Comic Vine as the most Overpowered SOB in Magic period!
Spawn here is the first 100 Issues. He has access to all his Feats from then as well as a 9999 Tick counter. Sounds like alot but its not. He used all that in 30 issues.
Anyway. Spawns first act in character will be to use his Empathy to detect your guy. He can then Fly (to save energy) to a high point and use those super stealth skills to patiently scope out your guy.
When ready Spawn can start his attack with a Illusian.
Followed up by a quick Teleport.
Then he can start his attack with his Chains and Cape. As these scans show he has no need to think about this as his suit does all the leg work for him.
Finaly Span will use his own Blast to damge him along with Shains and the Cape.
Arion won't be caught by surprise. His magic and his telelpthy/ clairvoyance will allow him to know when there is danger. Even when he was depowered he could sense things before they happened.
Spawn will have a difficult time harming Arion. He can shield himself, and has shielded thousands of Atlanteans at once individually. he can teleport himself through realms, become intangible at will, and can tank powerful attacks and has in fact done so from abstract beings.
Arion while depowered has defeated high level demons who's power rivals skyfathers.
He is also a very skilled and competent warrior who is master of the sword and h2h. he has battled skilled warriors while blind folded or deprived of his sight.

Very impresive. I still have the benefit of the Hallucination showing as well as a Cape and Chains that attack at bullet speed. Spawn with around 100 ticks usage of his power counter can Increase his Durability as well.
Cape cuts of Reddmers hand while Chains help dodge attacks.Multi 50 thousand Volts. This KOs him and only KOs him. His suit remain active. With Durabilty increase he should tank this as well.Chain speedDurability raised.
As shown he can Teleport and begin a onslaught while maintaining good defense.
Arion at his peak in power (which admittedly is only like three stories in all his history) is near the power level of Classic Strange or Classic Fate. At this level he draws on all the power of every star in the heavens ( he himself was a star for centuries) or the other source of his powers from his father Calculhah's palace in the dark worlds.
His greatest advantage is and always was his commitment. He would go further and push himself more than any other Mage to take the win. Because of this he has often driven his power to and beyond it's limits. The result is that while wining (every encounter even against more powerful adversaries) he has often used so much of himself that he was depowered afterward. In his 1982 title he was depowered four or five times in three year run by pushing his powers beyond their limits.
Even Depowered he's faced and defeated god's and chaos lords, often drawing on the power around him. He has attacked and defended multiple targets at once. He's not unfamiliar with BFR, teleporting or illusions either. He can become intangible at will. His shields have tanked damage that has decimated continents.
@beatboks1: At the peak of Spawns powers he was King of Hell with unlimited Power and Time Frezzing Capabilities. He was also proven worthy to posses the power to overpower God and Satan who are both Hell Lords and Odin Level. He remade the world.
The fact is even without Unlimited Power he had enough Hell Necroplasma and power from the Green World (Earth itself) to challenge and defeat The Dark God Urizen and King of Hell Malbolgia in the same day.

Mine you all this is limited in a 9999 counter. Raising the dead has used as much as 1000 ticks where small reality warping of Beer can use as much as 100.
Also as Houdini and Cog explain the Suit and Chains require no power to enhance Speed, Durability, Chain Attacks, Flight, and Cape Attacks.Ontop of this is his base 800 pounds of Strength that allows for 1 ton hits naturaly.
Also with his ability to heal at the cost of a 150 ticks and function with missing limbs/organs is a bonus to durability.
Arion has defeated god's two. He is the son of two god's (both Odin level). He fought several god's and won when he was depowered by drawing on the power of others. He faced and the Chaos god's Thalas, Chaon and his Mother Dark Majestra who are liken to Chtthon in Marvel in power, when he was completely depowered and mortal by simply channeling the power of other god's. At the height of his power his is far from merely mortal. At the height of his powers he is all light in the universe. he draws power from every star every source of light. At the height of his power he is immortal. What gives him the greater edge is that the reason he has been depowered on several occasions is that he unlike any other Mage has always been prepared to commit everything he has to a single victory. He has literally wielded his power beyond his own limits pushing to teh point where he expends every bit of mystical energy that he can wield into a single mystical action. No other Mage would ever do such a thing as if the gambit fails it would leave them completely defenseless. That's why he has defeated more powerful God's in his weakened mortal form because he has always been prepared to go to lengths that no mystic is prepared for. His warrior nature makes him put victory before himself.
Before the battle with his mother began he was completely powerless. He had expended every ounce of mystical energy he had to defeat his brother Garn Daanuth. Yet in the heat of battle he found yet another source of mystical power he could tap to be even greater than he'd ever been before. To wield more magical energy than at any time in his history. That's the story of Arion. No matter how powerful you are he always manages to tap a greater well. To find a source of power greater and vaster than who he opposes. His mothers machinations almost ended creation (all of creation) several times. Each time thwarted by Arion. The first time ( a few thousand years before the first Ice age) in doing so he actually sacrificed himself for the victory. he was completely obliterated and his essence sparked and created a new star where he existed only as a star for several millennium until he returned to a sentient form around the time of the second Ice age fully regenerated.
No matter the level of power Spawn wield, Arion will find a greater source a power that will grant him the victory. Even if that victory costs him every ounce of his strength, energy or existence that is what he will do, because those are the lengths that Arion goes to in character all the time.
Short and sweet. Fun debate for both of you, but as a person who knows nothing of each character, beatboks did a better job of conveying his guys power. Sorry Caddy.
