too many ways for Iron Man to win with all his lasers, rockets, and repulsors... Carnage will certainly make it a tough fight, especially starting out that close. Tony will have to react immediately and fly up to avoid a h2h fight and then spam ranged attacks while dodging everything Carnage throws at him.
Considering Carnage's weaknesses Iron Man should be able to pull an easy victory but in a random encounter is Tony's standard gear enough?
Iron Man. The first thing he's going to do when he sees Carnage is shoot straight up in the air and fire away. Even if Carnage latched on to him he could fly up real high, real fast and then Carnage is in real trouble. Carnage would have a tough time getting through Tony's armour when he's flying and fighting back anyways.
Current Iron Man wins
Agreed.
He has too much counters to carnage.
Set fires is easy.
I can't remember. How did Stark get away from Doppelganger during Maximum Carnage when his webs nearly cut through
his suit?

they cut through his suit in carnage mini as well. or reduced his shield to 5%
I think it would take more than just.. shooting him. Lately he has his head cut off, he swallowed a grenade, his head has blown up, he's turned to liquid, made annoying copies of himself. I think in theory ironman should be able to just fly up, and unleash a barrage of weapon systems at him.
If this was comic logic though the fight would drag on ironman would expel all his resources only to find out the carnage he was fighting wasn't real. or make a copy of himself to distract and send a piece of himself to sneak up and get within the crack of the suit some how.
I think ironman would and should win. I don't know if it would just be as easy as some people think.

To be honest, you make a fair point with the clones, because I actually didn't really know that, but his sensors may be able to pick up all clones. It's just that, as you said, he may be hard to put down (same with any single clone)
@cameron83: spider-man and ironman spent an entire issue fighting a puppet lol. it was pretty annoying, that for the most part was giving them trouble, although carnage had biomass tech upgrades in that issue.

So Iron Man should win, but with much much difficulty then.
To be honest, Carnage is a lot more powerful than I thought with the point that you brought :)
@cameron83: carnage has unlimited reach like mr fantastic he can make cross bows arrows chains spears can make hundreds of bullets at once plus he has spidey agility n speed

Are any of those supposed to affect Tony, not even counting his shields?
And I am pretty sure that Tony is faster and can tag him with his ranged weaponry, if not with a direct attack then with an area-of-effect attack.
also location will be problem to tony.it is in nyc and he can't risk innocent people.
carnage takes this.
Iron Man has the equipment in his armor to easily exploit both of the two weaknesses Carnage had when this thread was made. Remove Carnage's susceptibility to fire and sound, and then this fight would be more interesting (I still think Iron Man would have the edge but it would be a lot closer).
Iron Man stomps. His shields literally no-sold several Venom and Carnage symbiotes attacking them at once:
His durability isn't really all that either. Just ask Doctor Doom:
Now let's see how Doom's power compares to Tony's:
I don't see why he shouldn't one-shot him too. With sonics, this happens:
@noone1996: Doom was getting smacked left & right in that Ark, even Ares gave him a good beating and Skrull Spider Woman broke out of his tech which is completely absurd lol
@_kingoflatveria: The only time he was owned in that arc was against Sentry. Ares didn't do anything to Doom except smash him into machinery which he recovers from easily and then proceeds to blast him into screaming out in pain. I interpreted the Spider Woman thing more as a surprise to his energy/power. He probably used just enough energy to hold/contain them in that energy field based on how much raw power they possessed. He wasn't expecting her, or anyone there, to emit such crazy amounts of energy there.
